Agreed, but that would involve the PL giving a sh1t, but while the money and the best players roll in, they won’t....

In most North American leagues, agents get a percentage of the contract, paid by the player, and that's it. 5% is standard. While there would still be some incentive to push for bigger contracts and transfers (which is fine!), there would be far less to gain from the constant transfer churn, and far fewer of these highly-motivated "advisors" orchestrating deals.

Going into lockdown, I was thinking that something in the region of 37 (or maybe 38 with a bad GD) would be needed to stay up.

With results so far, including today, it's looking more like 35 (or maybe 34 with a good GD).

The bottom 5 seem determined not to gain any more points.

    Indeed.

Their problem now is that, other than Bmouth, there are lots of matches against each other from here on in. They can try as much as they like, but they can't all be losers in those games!

Without fans to change the dynamic, it basically comes down to team quality. Those at the bottom are not going to get their fans as 12th man and so upsets will be more unlikely, I guess.

Yeah, I agree with that. Which makes it such an interesting shootout. Watford, West Ham & the three below. I thought Watford would be best suited to this strange restart, but they have lost everything they did well before, including team bond seemingly.

Liverpool fans presumably complained that MOTD actually analysed some matches rather than talking about their title win

The sweetest is always kept to the end. Do you serve up your best wine, first or last?

I serve it first so my guests are drunk when I say "oh let's try this one now" and serve a £3.99 bottle of wine :)

3.99 a bottle!!! Hope it is not recognised by your dinner guests!! OK it is red with meet, a dry white with fish or pasta, a prosecco for dessert and a wonderful red (the best) for the cheeseboard.

At the moment I drink a white with a cube of ice just to chill. My friend uses three in each vaso de vino, so ends up consuming more water than wine.

When I go out to a bar in the evening I get a caña grande with ice. It is wonderful after a hot day and warm early evening walking the dogs.

I drink mainly Italian reds, a nice Barolo or Amarone cannot be beaten, but as you say, you need the right food to go with it. Always preferred Prosseco to Champagne, or even a nice Cava.

I jest about the cheap wine to guests, I do use that theory though at St Mary's, have a couple of nice glasses of red at a pub/restaurant before the game, then by the time I get to the game, the crappy wine doesn't taste so bad as I am a bit inebriated :)

A cheaper red I always put in the fridge for an hour as they taste a lot better chilled. I drink mainly reds as a ropey red is drinkable, but a ropey white I cannot stomach.

Love Amerone and Barolo but always a bit put off by the price tag. Wish I could find one which is good but not quite so expensive! Guess I’ll just have to move to Italy! :emoticon-0103-cool:

Aldi used to do a 'fake' Amarone called Aimione before COVID. It was £4.99 and absolutely stunning. Hopefully they will get it back in soon.

You are right though - Italians keep the best wine for themselves.
