Did anyone else read or hear the revelation that Fergie came out with the other day? TV is too powerful in football. Wow what a man of intuition he is. We in the lower reaches, and even when we were not this far down the pecking order, have been saying that for years. I find it almost laughable that any Manager from the premier league can have anything bad to say about TV given the amount of money they get to spend because of it. Has he suddenly grown a concience at last. No he hasn't,it is probably because they have dictated Man U play at a time when it doesn't suit him and he doesn't like it. If he really had an ounce of credibility to come out with that statement then he would send them back their money and arrange the game when it does suit him. Cheque in the post????? Yea right.

Sky TV money is killing football everywhere. How many leagues in almost all of the world of football now have more than a couple of teams who can win it? Answers on a postage stamp will do. Almost every year the same teams turn up in the Champions league or the other competition for the losers. This is to do with income everytime. They get so much more exposure and money than the also rans that they are almost guarateed to repeat the thing year on year. The money that filters down to the lower reaches now is a pitance and the more clubs strive to improve themselves the more clubs will get into the same position as we did. Ferguson is a genius for spotting all of that. Oh hang on it isn't that that bothers him it is his kick off time. I'm so upset for him I feel like crying.

I have always refused to have Sky TV in any form.........the way it has eroded choice of all the major sporting events on terrestrial TV over the years.

At present we've got a winning cricket team and hardly anyone sees them ridicules situation, and the same goes for so many sports............we've still got marbles and tiddly-winks...........I wonder why they don't want those.

I think the fact that the Americas Cup - a massive international sailing event...only warranted short highlights on Sky Sports 4 sums up what they think of other sports.

If you took a survey from people with the Sky Sports package I am certain you would find that at least 70% have brought it to watch premier league football and therefore they are also less likely to support their local team as the attitude is - "Why should I watch that ****e when I am paying to watch Premier League football?" (except those in areas where the Premier league football is being played)

Sky particularly has been killing football for decades now. ITV won a small victory ten years ago (+) when they got some of the rights to Champions League matches but Sky got pretty much everything else. Even 'home nations' International games get sold off instead of being nationally available.
