I don`t think he had an opportunity at Arsenal - he was injured when he joined, then CV19 arrived before he was fit.

 

Even putting aside the fact that he's ineligible to play against his parent club, and injured, tomorrow, I'm not totally sure if he's even able to play for Arsenal at all this season. He might have to wait until next season.

His permanent transfer surely can't go through until the transfer window, and registration window, open. And his loan I believe could only have been temporarily extended post 30 June (Arsenal's next league game after tomorrow is 1 July btw) if we first agreed to temporarily extend his contract. As I said a few weeks back, you can't have a free agent on loan - who are they are loan from?! One of the papers yesterday said that Arsenal were indeed in discussions with us to get us to extend his contract accordingly. Whether that happened or not, I don't know - but unless Arsenal offered us more money, what reason would we have had to help them?

 

Not Saints related but on the transfer subject... a few days ago everyone was perplexed that Juve would pay €80m for Arthur - well it is looking as if they are fiddling the books the bypass FFP.

This thread explains more but surely this is making a mockery of the FFP rules that both Juve and Barcelona have struggled to comply with recently...

Bit harsh on Cedric imo, he's not brilliant but not terrible either. Whereas part of me still feels like Cuco must have won a competition somewhere.

Also It looks like we are sending Lemina back out on loan to Galatasary.

I hope we are getting some decentish fees for these loans, Which would allow for some transfer money to be spent.

 

I think its more about off setting the £3m pa wages rather than getting a fee in. Such a shame about Lamina as he has such talent just a rather strange attitude and too many mysterious injuries

Cuco’s goal against Arsenal justifies his entire career imo. One of the best goals ever at St Mary’s, along with Danny “the loon” Osvaldo’s goal against City.

Didn’t a witch perform a ritual at St Mary’s a season after we move in? And our home form improved as a result...
