Twitter are run by a bunch of self righteous leftie bigots who hide behind their so called hate comments and a policy which protect certain groups, now I've not seen in their rules which ones are protected but I can guess. I was blocked for 24 hrs because in their eyes what I said to Justin Bieber was considered by them as hate content. All I was doing was to remonstrate with Bieber about him bullying a young Irish girl who hadn't put blm on her Instagram and then he followed up by saying no lives matter until blm. So I've appealed the decision and I'm a waiting the verdict. Hi shako, Your account, has been locked for violating the Twitter Rules. Specifically for: Violating our rules against hateful conduct. FFS Eric, I'm not a sad anorak that bookmarks every comment said by certain posters, I'd run out of fecking memory. I see what way you're playing this, but I'm not playing. You know what I'm talking about, but if you don't want to even make an effort, I won't bother either.
I'm not playing any game. I was just wondering, from your perspective, what is the issue with LL or the people that comment on his posts.
Adam Bolton knew exactly what sort of comments he would get, they don't just invite random people on to speak on the TV. Kevin HURLEY - Stood for Parliament as an Independent - Zero Tolerance Policing ex Chief Party
This is what I find very strange as over 45% of those killed by police are white, about 24% are black, just under 17% are hispanic and just under 14% are others or unknown. So how can they say it is predominantly aimed at all minorities?
But only 12% of the population are black so you're twice as likely to be killed by the police if you're black. Of course you have to take into consideration the amount of interaction with the police too. I don't think anyone can deny there's at least an unconscious bias towards race. We've done studies that show when Jury's are presented with the exact same evidence they are far more likely to find a black man guilty. We know that if you send two identical CVs to an employer the one with a "white sounding name" is far more likely to be invited for an interview. There are plenty of examples online where a black man stops a white criminal but when the police arrive they instinctively handcuff the black man. For me, those are the types of discrimination that need addressing rather than a knee-jerk reaction to individual incidents where race may or may not have been a factor.
Maybe so Tommo, but maybe those applying for jobs for example mighten be the best of the crop. I've been discriminated against because of my age, but I can't prove it. You can't start employing people just because of the colour of their skin either though just to keep people happy and to get quotas up.
I completely agree. In this country we have laws and processes now to try and stop discrimination on age, race or gender and in some areas it's arguably getting in the way of the most qualified person getting the job. Didn't the fire service relax the fitness test to encourage more female applicants? That might be great for the gender ratios but might not be so good if you need lifting out of a burning building. I'm not talking about situations where the applicants aren't the best of the crop though. I'm talking about studies where everything else is exactly identical yet some races are five or six times more likely to be invited to an interview than others. There was an interesting study in the UK where mock trials were held where literally the only difference was race and accent. I believe the result was a black man with a Birmingham accent was far more likely to be found guilty than a posh white man (who knew the Brummies were so untrustworthy).
That is true they are, but that is the wrong comparison. You have to compare it to who is doing the crime. Black people stood for more than 27% of ALL crime in 2018 and more than 53% of all the murder and nonnegligent manslaughter. Also, they stand for more than 43% of all the people arrested for weapons (that is carrying, possessing etc.) and more than 54% of all robberies. Aggravated assault they stand for just under 34% of all of them. The numbers for all the other years are more or less exactly the same. It is 3 times more likely to meet a black person that has a weapon than a white person that has a weapon. So in regards to capital crimes and weapons possession the number of black people killed by police is lower than expected in comparison to white people. You can see that black people are vastly overrepresented in violent crimes. I will make it abundantly clear that the police should not kill anyone regardless what race he or she are!!! In regards to being invited for an interview I can understand why they are reluctant to do that. Because more that 30% of all who have been arrested for forgery and counterfeiting are black. And when you look at fraud and embezzlement it is just under 32% and just over 35% So, also here black people are vastly overrepresented. The question you have to ask then is why are they so overrepresented in crimes?
That is a good question. There are so many factors I don't think a football forum is going to solve. Personally I think people underestimate how much inequality is down to other factors such as wealth and education rather than just race. A white boy in a poor area of Rochdale has vastly different life expectations to a white boy in Windsor. The problem is the most vocal people on are usually the ones with a that pick a side and only look for facts to suit their agenda. The more educated usually realise the truth is somewhere inbetween the two extremes.
Probably over represented because of the situation to be fair. Most of their predecessors came to the UK for work. They didn't come to be lawyers. They came to work in the poorest sector. That was only a couple of generations ago and it's hard to get out of that quickly. It will improve with time. At the present they predominantly live in poorer areas where crime is higher. (Same with white, asian and other races). The idea is that if the opportunities are equal then these areas should improve or at least allow the minorities to move upwards away from the crime ridden areas. The minorities certainly don't help themselves by looting, dragging statues down, graffiti, flouting lockdown rules, attacking police. I know this will probably rub people up the wrong way but the way that behaviour has been allowed over the last few weeks is disgraceful and it's about time the government cracked down on it before it escalates further. The fact that they are now openly attacking police and causing casualties show that these areas are willing to keep pushing the boundaries. I'm all for supporting equal rights and opportunities but not if it is divisive which it is increasingly becoming. It's not helping anyones cause at the moment. It's time for all the clashes to stop.
Hot outside and heating up in here, damn do we need three points against Fulham to get us all in a happy mood
The debate about black and white like most things is shades of grey. Kerching. Personally, I think on here, those who see the middle ground are still lumped as looney left! Absolutely its about social inequality - but obviously the black community are overly represented in those demographics and a lot of people see the skin tone as the problem not the circumstance. I'm a white middle class boy, family had no money to speak off but enough to get by - parents were teachers.. they went to Uni, my sister went to Uni, it never occurred to me to seek a career in drug trafficking. If I lived in a council estate off coldharbour lane in Brixton, from a broken home and went to a school where you needed to be in a gang to avoid getting the sh*t kicked out of you every day, and all your friends were tooled up... it's a bit harder to say... not tonight lads, I'm cramming for my A levels. But it seems everyone on here knows a black lad they went to school with who got a job, so why can't the rest of them? Your last few posts on here are spot on Tommo. Just don't expect to change anyone's opinion!
