We were dirt poor when we lived in a Durham pit village, much more than modern people on benefits.

Two adults and 4 kids lived in a 2 bedroom pit house, with a toilet across the road in a midden, no bath, TV or radio and no heating other than the range in the living room.

None of us turned to crime because we had more self respect ...

... people have to take some responsibility for their actions.

There are plenty of poor people in the UK who don't go out mugging and drug dealing.

 

And that is why people get annoyed, I'm sorry but this is 2020.

There are more than enough opportunities for anyone no matter what colour or race to better themselves, yes racism exists across All skin colours but we also have as people far greater opportunities than people in the past had.

Seems like a lot of younger kids these days expect everything on a plate rather than having to work for it

 

If my elder brothers sports day fell on the same day as mine I'd have to stay at home. He was at Leadgate, I was at Medomsley.

We had one pair of plimsolls between us so he'd have his sports day and I'd play in the woods ...

... happy as could be, the local chemist paid a tanner a bag for rosehips

I never once thought of mugging someone to pay for ridiculously expensive designer footwear.

 

So given that 3 times as many white Americans live in poverty as African Americans....

Hmm, that seems to confirm white advantage

 

You're missing the point that poor black families have more children and the percentage of single parents is much higher. More children to feed and, more often than not, only one provider equals greater poverty. Keeping it in your pants, or staying around for the birth, would help things quite considerably.

What's confirming white advantage is that they're more responsible for their own actions.

Is that fair? Well no, I assume you will say the figures need further analysis and I'm being overly simplistic

... the figures make a case that a black boy in USA are x times more likely to commit a crime, yes?

If that is the case, then that's definitely not good and we need to look at it. There could be cultural and historical reasons related to generations of poverty and disadvantage; slavery, share-cropping, black slums at the turn of the century, segregation and ghettos, the black community in these areas have historically felt threatened and so have responded in this way, or even exploitation by the mafia in the early development in the illegal drug trade. I think all of those are legitimate, I'm not going to continue a line of defence with these socioeconomic factors.

There was a study done ....and for godsake don't drill me for the details -which dismissed the study or report stating black kids commit most crimes, which should have correctly concluded more black people are apprehended which distorted these statistics and all we can conclude here is that a disproportionate number of black people have been apprehended

It's something that all the apologists ignore because it's irrefutable. Black men get black women pregnant which the women allow. The fathers leave the state to bring up their children in poverty because they don't use condoms ... fact.

Is it any surprise hard working, tax paying people often have a low opinion of them.

Instead of blame shouldn't the focus be on solution? Shouldn't any solution be also based on accurate definition of the problem? Isn't that what these namby-pamby liberal lefty studies are trying to do?

In the context of that sentence they implies all, as in all of those people, but I'd rather not get bogged down with semantics which is why I drew a line under it ............. However, 'they don't use condoms' is a strong claim

I haven't commented on those statistics, neither was it a contradiction with the figures you quoted, it said 'UK Census 2011'

It may help to use UK figures as we have a far better potential understanding of conditions in the UK rather than USA where the conditions are not the same. Also Australia ("hello Australia, still here?!" toss a bit of meat on the barbie for me) has very different background circumstances with race-related issues, whereas there is some similarity between UK and USA, some of the circumstances are distinct.

 

Which is why there's no easy fix. As i said earlier, everyone has different life experiences and that will affect their own individual views.

At the end of the day, if people don't want to get in trouble with the police, don't act like a twat
