A rope!! Bloody luxury , mate. In my day when drunk you had to sleep on broken bottles and nails. You try telling the kids of today and they won't believe you!
Still remember a lad at work appearing with a dreadful rash on one side of his face . All the women were fussing over him , in that really irritating way they have , but he clearly was reticent to say what had caused it . When they finally left he told me the cause. "Got home Saturday totally bladdered and couldn't get key in door so slept on the drive . Spent nearly an hour Sunday morning picking bits of gravel out my face " Naturally i showed my concern by laughing long & loud .

God, I remember them, and logarithm tables. Surprisingly I have never found a use for the latter in my entire life!
I found slide rules fascinating too although I can't say the same for trigonometry. Cos, sin and tan were a foreign language to me. I get that some occupations need to work out angles etc. but for the rest of us it's an unsolvable mystery.
Went shopping to Huyton Asda earlier today, before getting out of the car(mine btw)I put on my stylish LFC YNWA facemask and made my way across the car park, there was a familiar face walking not far from me, hair had turned grey, there were wrinkles on his face....but it was famous former red Chris Lawler. I walked closer and said "Chris, thanks for the happy memories mate" and put my hand out to shake his, and in a move as quick as one of his defensive tackles back in the day he backed off and said with a big smile "whoa, elbows only my friend", i apologised and we both laughed. He's still a Liverpool legend in my eyes.
