Somehow I don’t think it was a mess, I think those in charge knew exactly what they were doing and we’ll see Alnwick come in for nothing with burge taken number 1 jersey.
They’re a bunch of ****as and the sooner we get them out the better

 

It never good to loose a steady performer, but I think its standard behavior from Big Jon, we got him under the similar circumstances iirc., so good luck to him, he never let us down, so its fair do's and it remains to be seen wether we miss him or not, Burge has looked ok to me and was a bit unlucky to loose his place, as for Alnwick I would sooner see Max back as no 2 tbh.

 

He is a journey man. Thats what he does. Got him for nowt, left for nowt. I rate Burge as good so no big deal for me.

 

The issue isn't McLaughlin going as that may have been unavoidable. It's that he's gone for free, only a year ago there was talk of a decent transfer fee for him, realistically the club are not in a position to refuse good transfer fees (if that was true) but not then offer longer contracts.

 

And nor should he .

 

Might have thought to see where we were going to finish up, if we went up pay him championship wages If we went up and we had sold him we would have had to buy a Championship keeper and pay Championship wages.

 

He's left for free every club he's been at, im not sticking up for Donald but I think this was planned

 

Probably sorted when he was on international call up

Fantastic move for him. I’m comfortable with Burge anyway.

He has, but it’s not as black and white as that. He signed 2/3 new deals at Bradford and signed new deals at Burton. The only club he left without renewing his deal was Hearts after a year

 

not arguing the “**** off Donald” but I think he’s been poor the past season. Burge is as good so no big loss. Besides, he’ll be on far more than we could offer him now so not sure what we could do. If rangers and championship clubs have been (as reported) sniffing ad him, I don’t think it’d matter when we offed a contract

 

I prefer Burge anyway. McLaughlin had quick reflexes and a long reach but was so slow he was a liability on PK's. He never would have stopped Cattermole's failed, but decent attempt at Wembley.
