Woolstonian Tom Parker played for the great Arsenal team of the thirties having started at Saints, he later managed Saints and signed Ted Bates too!.
I'd drop PEH and play Smallbone or Romeu. Could also drop Valery and play KWP as he'll want to smash the gooners. 2.1 Saints. Ings & Bednarek to score
I thought that Pierre was very good against Norwich, i'd expect Ralph to go with a similar team with possibly Valery dropping to the bench.
I agree PEH was good but he looks to be off soon. We're safe from going down, I'd use the games to experiment a bit and blood some youngsters without the added pressure of a packed stadium. It's hard as we just thumped Norwich but if we played a few more youngsters until the end of the season I think it'd help long term....I include Gunn in the youngsters bracket too.
KWP in for Valery. Not because Valery has been poor as he hasn't actually had regular football for a while, but because we have a limited time to find out if KWP is worth buying. I'd be tempted to play Che Adams as a goal or 2 now could ease the pressure and set him up for a good 2nd season.
Without any fans, it would be typical of Southampton to do what Newcastle did last week, not necessarily scoring three, but at least winning. Having said that, when did Arsenal last lose three consecutive league games in their history?
I think the home form was better than this season's, so the logic is that Southampton struggle in front of their own fans. But without them, I am expecting a win!
