Nowt to worry about marra. They're already laughed at by a lot of people. Now they'll be the most detested club in England

This 100% I reckon if bin laden bought us it’d be preferable to the clown we’ve got now

Disagree with the final paragraph, these guys want to grow their asset not just have it tick along and make a little here and there from it. They will want a City style return on their investment (City were bought for 210 million and are now worth 4.8 Billion) and to get that you need to be spending big and speculating to accumulate.

The attractiveness of NUFC to them is that its a financially sound project that can afford to spend some money inline with FFP already. Once the commercial revenue, that's been hindered and subdued by Ashley, starts bringing in decent money as well there will be a decent wedge of money to be spending year on year. Think there was an article from a finance expert who was saying we could spend £150m in the first year before the commercial side was sorted and any outgoing transfers. Long term though it will only work with European football.

If you look at a lot of the players that need replacing as well I'd be pleased if we couldn't boost the coffers by £40-50 million through player sales. Gayle, Muto, Clark, Yedlin, Atsu to name a few who could make £5-10m for the kitty each. If you sold one or two of the "stars" Miggy, Shelvey, Ritchie, ASM etc we could have a big pot to spend to bring in a few really big name signings.

FFP was brought in so clubs couldn’t do what Man City done, as for selling the players you mentioned you were correct when you said “if” as I think teams will be a bit more careful with the money now and I don’t think you’ll get the price you are stating “if” other clubs buy them. Then you have to have top top players wanting to come to you as I don’t think you’ll have the same pull as the best teams in the world with all your money so you could be paying over the odds for second best players that the top teams don’t want. Don’t get me wrong I would love us to be in your position but I think your fans think you’re a team that are bigger than what you really are

    Those valuations <laugh>

You assume you’d get more than 10 million for Matt Ritchie? lol, he’s ****ing garbage and only you guys see him as one of your ‘stars’.

ASM looks a real talent, mind. You’ll do exceptionally well to keep hold of him. Surely he’ll end up at a top 4 club if not next season, then the season after...

As I say the finances are already there to spend £150m if nothing else happened, even if Ashley stayed and we didn't sell anyone - it never would with Ashley here but theoretically it could.

In regards to the player prices, firstly I'm glad you noted the hypothetical part whereby "if " is the key word. What I will say is that they aren't world class but a lot of teams in the bottom half of the league or those coming up in the summer will spend money - yes maybe more reservedly but they will spend - and I'd imagine they will want players with a bit of experience. Ciaran Clark for example at £5m for a newly promoted club would be a blinding bit of business for them. £5-10m on a player is not beyond the realms of possibility for Championship teams either so players like Atsu, Murphy, Gayle could all end up in a league where they look comparatively good at a decent price - remember Gayle was being touted as nearly agreed at £15m to Leeds in the summer so £7-9m for him this year could be achievable.

In regards to our fans thinking we are bigger than we are, I'd dispute that heavily and say we are numbly realistic after 13 years of Ashley but excited by a potential new dawn. I don't expect a front 3 of St Maxim, Kane and Sancho next season - Just Mbappe, Ronaldo and Messi. Don't worry I won't mention pissing the championship, sorry, league one...

I mean we bought Ritchie for £12m in the championship, hes a versatile, lower half EPL player - you guys bought Rodwell for £11m so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say we can agree Ritchie is as good if not, better, than him?

With ASM I'm really worried if we don't get the takeover done by the summer we will lose him this summer window, he's way above our level and at 22 just going to improve so either need a new owner with ambition or we will end up selling for a profit in the next 3 -12 months.

Yeah Ritchie is better than Rodwell but I’ve no idea why you have just compared them two players? Being better than Rodwell is no great achievement and doesn’t necessarily put you in the 10 million category.

A lot of managers would have noted ASM’s performance against Sheff Utd, the way he just left players for dead was very impressive. New owners may persuade him to stay but if a club like City or Liverpool come calling his transfer request will be straight in :emoticon-0105-wink:

. If you sold one or two of the "stars" Miggy, Shelvey ....

Shelvey is a liability who's not good enough for the top half of the PL and too much of a risk for the bottom half.

I doubt he'll play any higher than the Championship when he leaves Newcastle tbh.

Division 3 potentially on the brink of administration and some of you wouldn't want to have this takeover.

Thank you @Oh Saffy for being honest, of course you'd want this ****ing takeover. <doh>
