I thought that too, but noticed in one of the replays that it didn't seem to be a bad pass per se, but more of a left leg getting in the way of the passing right leg, stopping the leg swinging it's expected distance, so mis-directing the ball (does that make sense?). I also noticed that he stumbled to the right a few paces, supporting my thought. If he hadn't stumbled like that, I think he would have reacted more quickly. I'm guessing his stumble, being in the opposite direction from the play took him out of any chance of an immediate reaction.
Personally, I blame Elland for this defeat. He predicted that Alioski would score in 72 mins & everyone believed him - including the manager! He put Alioski on the park in time for his 72nd minute goal, as predicted by Ell. The whole team were waiting on it & it didn't happen, making their heads drop for the rest of the match. So hang your head in shame, Elland!
Hope not, but would not come as a surprise ..... https://motleedsnews.com/comment/mo...lding-his-groin-injury-would-be-catastrophic/

Motormouth in top gear again ..... https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/leeds-united-jean-kevin-augustin-18463601 I thought Edmondson was out for the season after knee surgery. Is he really back? I suspect not.
Understand the point on variety but teams know what’s coming... these comments you hear that sides have sussed us kind of miss the point. Everyone knows what’s coming... and have for two seasons but how many actually stop it? The strategy is, typically, ‘hope to Nick one on the break and shut up shop’. Worked for you guys yesterday as it has for some others but it’s dependant on an error or a piece of skill (or both as in yesterday) happening before we take one of our chances. If we had more efficiency in front of goal we’d have been promoted pre lock down... we can’t change that so bielsa will forever stick to plan B being to do plan A better.
Edmonson is out for the season...did his knee in training just before the season was suspended. Marcelo was just on the point of calling him up for the 1st team squad as well, as he said he'd improved and it was merited. Typical of Noel Whelan, no clue as to actually what's going on at TA.
Good point about maybe switching the wingers for a spell during the match. It would give the opposition full backs something new to think about and is surely worth a try for 10/15 mins just to change things up a little and try and unsettle teams who are mainly just defending. Agree about Cooper as well, not captain material as he's not good enough as a player to warrant the armband. Always has a mistake in him and infuriates me when I see him grabbing the shirt of the player he's marking...especially after Derby last year and the totally unneccessary penalty he gave away.
Nicking one on the break and shutting up shop is not always the case though is it. You stuck 3 past us up your place and it looked all over a stroll after an hour. It was then you ****ed up and didn't shut up shop. You kept playing the same way and fell apart because you didn't have the "plan B" that Bielsa says he doesn't need. Yesterday was different and you didn't get the lead. You rightly say that opposition sides know what's coming and more often than not can't do anything about it - that's fair enough. The point is when it doesn't go right for you. then "plan B" being just a better version of "plan A" is a load of bollocks because you changed nothing when we put on a second left back to double up on Poveda. Don't get me wrong, apart from obvious club loyalty, I'd prefer all day long to watch Leeds playing your stuff than Cardiff playing ours.
don’t disagree sparky - I’m pointing out his Philisophy... and shutting your shop isn’t a strength of ours... you did it well
Pinched this post from FB. Kinda puts things in perspective .... Ok guys and gals lets put this in perspective Top 4 West Brom 1st 71 pts 7 pts clear of 3rd 3 x Home matches 5 x Away matches Still to play top 7 clubs Fulham Home Brentford Away Us 2nd 71 pts 7 pts clear of 3rd 5 x Home matches 3 x Away matches Still to play top 7 clubs Fulham Home Fulham 3rd 64 pts 7 pts behind 3 x Home matches 5 x Away matches Still to play top 7 clubs West Brom Away Us Away Forest Away Brentford 4th 63 pts 8 pts behind 5 x Home matches 3 x Away matches Still to play top 7 clubs West Brom Home Preston Home Do we really think fulham and Brentford can win all their games with the upcoming matches Thoughts....
Was that because we had so few bodies in the box compared to them? We probably had two players in the box on both occasions due to their chances coming from mistakes compared to a packed penalty area at the other end
Here are the PPG averages for home and away, WBA 1.68 Home 2.05 Away Leeds 2.06 Home 1.70 Away Fulham 1.90 Home 1.44 Away Brentford 1.94 Home 1.40 Away Seems to me Brentford with 5 home games remaining are the major threat as it stands. That's why Friday's fixture which sees them at home to WBA (who have the best away PPG in the division) is huge. Also your stat on WBA is incorrect, they have 4 home and 4 away fixtures remaining.
