I have a daft habit of listening to people who've recently died, as a mark of respect I suppose.

John Prine is the latest and some of his stuff is extraordinary ...

... I remember this, from many years back, but didn't really pay attention to the lyrics at the time.

That's a cracking mix. I wish my music taste was so varied. It isn't.

Mine never used to be, but as I have gottsn older I've learnt I appreciate it.

I love a tamala motown song as much as I love a slipknot song

Mainly reggae for me, I’m a big Bob Marley fan. Me and Mrs Sombrero went to his mausoleum last year.
I’m actually getting involved in a bit of promoting, I’m in touch with The Gladiators (a reggae band based in France) and a promotor in Newcastle trying to get something arranged for after lockdown
Also two members in Culture, seen them a few times in Newcastle.

Don't tend to get involved in music threads because I'm not into most of the bands that my mates are. Love Bruce Springsteen, only seen him (I think) 6 times, but two of them were when me and my brother went to watch him in New Jersey a few years ago which was unforgettable. But other than that I normally listen to country music which isn't particularly popular here! Mainly slightly older country, George Strait, Alan Jackson but also like Brad Paisley and even a fair bit of Toby Keith but that's about as up to date as I get. I'm only 35 but must have the music taste of someone quite a bit older! I appreciate lots of musical styles mind but most of my mates are most at home somewhere like 7even in town and that really isn't my kind of thing

    Alan Jackson

    George Strait

    Brad Paisley

And a slightly better known one

    Toby Keith

Not exactly happy / lively songs in the main mind! I like them though, easy to listen to, fairly simple songs. Only got into country a few years ago and there's so little of it played here that you suddenly find loads of artists with huge back catalogues of stuff you just didn't know existed. Definitely an acquired taste though

    How about blues rock?

His latest album is a collaboration with Bruce Springsteen, Billy Gibbons, Joe Bonamassa, Paul Simon, Van Morrison and others.

    It's certainly not bebop - here's a taster.
