Not with as much detail as I suspect you are about to demand but maybe have a look through here if you are actually as interested as your purport to be.

You sound very defensive: "Not with as much detail as I suspect you are about to demand" and "if you are actually as interested as your purport to be."
I get the impression that you just want to complain.
Have you set up a group and contacted the club?
What would you want the club to do?

I see you edited out the last two lines of my post.
"Have you set up a group and contacted the club?
What would you want the club to do?"
    Do you have any answer?

Piss off back to Orchid, Pete.

Way to completely destroy a thread.

I probably shouldn’t extend this but here goes
    1. No I don’t agree that people who are discriminated against have no need to campaign any more. That’s not how campaigning works. Otherwise women who campaigned to get the vote would have stopped at their first success when only the ones who were over 30, owned property, or were married to a property owner were given the right to vote. Discrimination in the workplace is much less, due to change in society but mainly legislation. Discrimination within communities still exists. As Drew admitted to not being sure about wanting to hold hands with his husband at City I have a friend who is married and has been for years but he isn’t comfortable holding his husband’s hand in public because of the abuse they get. While that situation remains then there is work to do
    2. Not sure why the question is relevant. I didn’t spot anyone suggesting a ‘campaign’ although CBA to read back through it all. The point surely is that while no senior footballers are openly gay then it’s highly likely some feel unable to express that they are.
    3. I suppose in a way I do campaign for equal rights and tolerance. I’m vocal about it professionally and try to ensure no discrimination takes place at work and I take part in Pride every year, partly as a celebration of what has been achieved and partly as a protest to remind people there’s more still to do.

1 Looks like a straw man argument. When there was the campaign for women to get the vote then my point is that if they get the vote they don't need to keep campaigning. You seem to say that I am saying that as long as some women get the vote then they have got what they were campaigning for. I dont think that some women getting the vote is the same as all women getting the vote.
2 No campaign needed!? 3 Campaign needed!? I agree with your first sentence as it's not clear whether you think a campaign is needed/wanted or not.

OK I’ll be much more simplistic.
Peter - “So if they have got what they campaigned for then do you agree that they don't need to campaign now?”
Me - “I don’t agree that we (not they) have got what we campaigned for.”

Personally I’d like to live in a world where my friends who are gay can walk hand in hand without that being a big deal and them knowing they’ll get abused for doing so.
