I'm not getting upset about it but imo this is now just a corporate decision rather than individual choice .

You should have kicked their kneeling leg away and watched them fold like a pack of cards.

I'm not convinced, that black lives matter on the back of football shirts serve the purpose people think it serves. However, if people want to do it I have no objection...

than to say...the likes of me, you, tobes already get the message, but it's not us we are trying to get the message to, it's the 'others' - but who are these others the Premier League, who have a Chairman that just happens to be a white face. Maybe FIFA the most corrupt organisation in the world. Maybe the current government, shall we count the white faces in the cabinet versus black ratio. I'll shut up here, otherwise it's just going to wind me up. Trust me, nothing will change.

Makes me wonder why the easily lead got all upset when Corbyn said he wouldn't kneel for the queen.......that was worth voting him in 2power if nothing else was.

Boris couldn't wait to kneel at the feet of a repulsive load of bullshitters

I’ve not really seen anybody be truly offended or bothered about people choosing to kneel down. I think it’s silly and pointless but if some folk choose to do it, crack on.

It’s hitting a nerve with a lot of folk that the poppy was banned for apparently being a political issue and people’s feelings are that the FA should have kept away from this, too.

When a lot of people in this country go about their daily business and never witness racism against Black people and now all of a sudden it’s being pushed down everybody’s throats everywhere they look that black people are oppressed and the white people are responsible for that, it can start to make people (me) think ‘**** right off with this bullshit’

I’ve never been a slave owner and none of these precious ****s have ever been a slave.

Well as you raise the topic, I've never believed that people should kneel for the Queen. That in itself symbols a class divide. I think just general respect and pleasanteries, should be suffice.

This again reflects what I'm saying about the wording on the back of shirts, the people the message should be aimed at, will not give a shhite. So it is in a sense ramming it down our throats. Go deal with the racists directly, it's not rocket science where the blame for that lays, maybe even look at the organisation that is promoting the name on backs of shirts. Some of them really need a mirror. The NYPD would be a great starting block, but names on the back of shirts in the UK ain't going to sort that.

The quickest and easiest way to hit racism, is not names on shirts but direct action, and there is no better direct action, than refusing to buy into their products....let that one sink in for a few moments.

In the same way FIFA is corrupt, but we will all still buy into the product, so theoretically we are aiding and abetting corruption, and we do the same with racism, because we go round in circles doing gimmicks. Set them targets, if they fail to live up to standard, don't buy the product. You would see a massive change in racism if that happened......well if people are that serious about wanting change, obviously I wouldn't want to suggest the white faces promoting it, are mearly massaging their own guilty conscience. I feel guilty this happens.

There’s a massive leap from saying ‘black people can be racist as well’ to suggesting that Black privilege is an actual thing.

The entire issue is about whether there’s still work to do in terms of inherent racism in society, and what still remains to be done. We live in a country where still circa 1 in 4 adults admit to having racist views, that has to impact on everyday life. Instead of this fact being the main point of debate and how we change that for future generations, we’ve seemingly ended up down a blind alley where plenty seem to think it’s all about statues and they’re frothing at the mouth about footballers wearing BLM on their shirts. Which a cynic might suggest is nothing more than a great excuse to push the narrative that there’s ‘nothing to see here’ hands off Winston!

The point about other minorities feeling this is too focused on the black community as opposed to just BAME in general I get, and I can understand why an Asian for example, might think that’s the case.

The poppy was banned by FIFA iirc not the English FA, and the point was contested.

think FIFA have rescinded that decision now though as an aside while i think the decision was idiotic i do think the "Poppy" has been to some extent politicised in recent years and it doesn't sit that well with me .

Basically it would be easier to stop talking about racism and oppression so much (Why bring slavery into it ffs) and focus on the word equality and making the world a fair and equal place for all. Something so small with wording like that would be far more endearing to the public who would be sympathetic rather than the message of ‘we’ve suffered at your hands’ that’s coming across, now.

I understand BLM will try to claim that’s their message but that’s not how it’s coming across. Not even close.
