Very few words needed. She has been a beacon of light and hope to thousands over the years. Cracking innings at 103, may you rest in peace.

Has ACS taken so much control he is now dividing up his duties and delegating them? So Cronemeister has picked up the role of posting RIP threads. Will these be policed in similar fashion? ACS was a tyrant who would not allow discussion about the person he was RIPing about. So if they had some less savoury history it was not allowed to be discussed. It would be all "this is a commemorative thread, we don't need to discuss their life" or "just ignore it if you have nothing nice to say". What is the criteria for getting an RIP thread? For instance I felt Pol Pot had some great ideas in amongst his flaws.

Basically Herr ACS ran it like a death camp. So what I want to know is, if I think Dame Vera Lynn had a whorish mouth and was a smelly pirate hooker, will I be allowed freedom of speech to voice my concerns about people celebrating the dead. Or will I be censored a la ACS totalitarian government. I don't by the way I quite like her and my granny still sings We'll Meet Again to me all the time.

Never touched her bush mate. Disgraceful posting things like that about the woman. What's wrong with you?

Not really arsed myself to be honest. Willie Thorn and Dame Vera Lynn did remarkable things in their lives so was a mark of respect....not sure it's about whether they've got skeletons in their closets or not.

An RIP Garry Glitter thread for example is probably one that you would not see, made some decent music if you're into that sort of stuff but he ain't going down in history for his music that's for sure.

So aye...probably more of a death camp then to put a badge on it :-D
