you mean the meals that child benefit was meant to be used for?

 

I would think many families have been spending more on childcare and food during “lockdown” than they would normally ...

I believe our benefit system is not fit for purpose and is open to abuse , however , feeding kids during this period, or ensuring kids below the poverty line, get fed is a worthy benefit .

 

Why do they need to spend money on childcare during lockdown?

 

Looking after their children ... not actual “child care “ but care of their children .

I know I spend a lot on my daughter the now she’s not in nursery . I pay for her at nursery place but right now with lockdown I’m not really saving . This is the same for all parents I know ...outgoings are up with kids at home .

Now, Imagine being on benefits and having no nursery or school available ...

this benefit extension will benefit 000s of kids

 

Imagine getting childcare and benefits to look after the children you decided to have and then expect taxpayers to pay even more
