No problem with protesting, it's our legal right. I do have a problem with rioting, criminal damage and putting innocent police officers in hospital ... ... I'm sure you'd agree as would any decent person.
The bit I struggle with is that it's appears OK to be racist against white People but it isn't against any other skin tone. Imagine a white boxer, annoucing to the public don't buy black peoples goods, yet here we have the heavyweight champion of the world, saying dont buy from white people. Why happened in America is wrong and no person on the planet deserves to be strangled to death on the street, but that also doesn't mean its to be used as fuel to fire flames
I'm not, I just find it incredible you'd like such a stupid post simply because it was about me ... ... now that's petty.
Smug, why don't you apologise for calling my statements racist earlier on? It seems to me that's what you want from Shameless, and you said before you hated how he wasn't man enough to apologise for accusing you of racism, so why don't you practice what you preach? Then maybe I would stop finding you to be such a risible character who is constantly the victim but never the aggressor, oh no, not old smug!
Post where I did and I'll apologise, no problem .... As for being an aggressor, I have no problem there either. If I see stupidity, or if I'm being wrongly accused, I'll happily respond however I choose. This is what I said and I stand by it. "You're saying you'd be the first to march against black police officers but you're not marching against white ones. I think you might need to step back, ignore the notifications, and think about how racist that looks." I wasn't calling you racist, I was saying it looks racist but I'm sure you were getting yourself mixed up. If that's not the case please explain as I asked you to do earlier.
Oh here we go. Mealy mouthed excuses. I'd say I expect better, but you're an incredible pedant when it suits you, If you say something I said looks racist, you're inferring I'm a racist. I've explained it a few times and you've ignored it, but that was too much credit given that nobody could possibly have thought it was a racist comment in the context of the original discussion, it was, as usual, you looking to try and score cheap points.
This is supposed to be a thread about Black Lives Matter - now its a thread about poor Smug's bruised ego I'm not going to go through this whole thread but there is a liturgy of derogatory remarks that I have by-passed, including "shallow" and "gutless" on a recent post to the accusation of relying on Google to copy and paste stuff But it has all become about Smug saying I accused him of racism which is not even true - I'm not about to backtrack through every post because I don't need to - I was alarmed by one of your posts and you clarified it. I further replied saying I was pleased you did not hold a colonialist viewpoint, therefore recognising that the wording of your statement did not mean anything racist. I did not apologise because I did not accuse you of racism I merely asked you to clarify You then burst upon the scenes again claiming I was having a go at you which was quite bizarre really Smug you said this post was patronising, I would like to know by what manner would you define it as patronising please?
I'm sure a god-fearing methodist like smug is aware that those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones @Shameless - he'd never get caught implying someone was a racist and refusing to apologise, while simultaneously demanding an apology from someone else for implying racism on his part. Ludicrous scenario, anyone doing that would look silly.
Would it not be more sensible to accept there are faults on both sides of this argument? The American police appear to have a culture of racism against people of colour, people of colour appear to have a culture of racism against white people. Preety sure they was a post earliwr regarding the killingof white farmers in Africa, I don't recall seeing that as headline news across the world
You've spent two days supporting BLM and black causes, which I've acknowledged. Why would I now claim that you're racially prejudiced against black people ... ... I wouldn't and I haven't because it would be a ludicrous suggestion.
As in every country, there is a very small minority of people who are racist. Which btw doesn't stop at black people. White people are also targeted in some countries, as well as Asians, South Americans, you name it. This country is one of the most liberal in the world. Jobs in the police force and many other work organisations including football management have a policy where black people must be interviewed, and in some cases, the job is specifically only for black people, white people cant apply. Can you imagine if jobs were set a side for white people only? The MOBO awards, are an annual music awards ceremony for black people only. Can you imagine if we had one for whites only? On my sky tv there is a channel that is specifically for black people. Again, can you imagine if we had one specifically for white people? The black rapper stormzy has set up a foundation that funds only black students to go to university. Could you imagine if a white person done that for white students only. They are just a few examples of many I could choose from, that are in my opinion, discriminating against white people, or in easier terms, RACISM. Black people are given exactly the same rules and human rights as white people. Yes you will always find examples of small minority racism against blacks. But the UK, in my opinion isn't a racist country, no matter how many times the press like to tell us. I don't live in America, so I can't speak for their racism. But I do know the majority of the country voted in a BLACK president. The unlawful killings of black people by police in America should be dealt with like any other murder trial. Because that's what it is, murder.
Some very valid points in there, but MOBO’s can’t be in there. It stands for ‘music of black origin’ a factual statement, and has had many, many white award winners.
