Ruth Carr is an interesting one, because she was one flat trainer who shut her yard down when the epidemic started, so it'll be very interesting to see how her runners go today/tomorrow and whether they need to be watched for the minute.
racing looks pretty dire next few days over here but sure they will be hyping up the irish guineas, not interested in much apart from Domino Darling on Saturday
Afternoon all Nothing for me today but looking forward to seeing how Portrush gets on in the 4.10. Hopefully a nice introduction. No interest in punting her as the Varian filly will be very hard to beat.
Nah, happy where he is and trying to earn bonuses in tipping contests. We keep in touch on social media. Will get him out to watch my latest venture when it gets to the track. Might have to do a bit of a meet-up!
Pixel Power had to be bustled early to take a prominent position but she seemed to be in a good position to strike at the business end. She found very little for pressure though and dropped back. The other two pace setters Line Judge and Pirate Lass both kept on well and were only caught late to finish second and third. It really looked as if Pixel Power just didn't last the 7th Furlong today and on this evidence it would seem likely she would be dropped to 6F next time. A little bit disappointed with her run today.
Don't know if Galaxy will remember me, Stick, but do give him my best regards when you talk to him next. Used to enjoy his tips and posts very much; my goodness, he really was a stalwart on the old BBC 606 in particular. Remember the pretty girl BBC had on this website, and that guy 'Richard' who seemed to be always making cups of tea? They were good days, for sure.
It is not helping that Royal Ascot is on next week. Already thin quality is being spread further still. Gold Wand may give Domino Darling a boost shortly. I thought the Varian filly was more physically imposing when they met last year but the trainer does not inspire me in terms of getting them ready for the Classics.
Nice compliment to Domino Darling, won very easily with only the Enable half sister getting into it without threatening the winner, nice debut from that one.
Lovely introduction for Portrush. And a nice performance from the Varian filly. The first three home there could be very useful.
Comfortable for Gold Wand but I suspect it wasn't much of a race. Portrush sat out the back but eventually got going, however there was only going to be one winner and the 3rd favourite being withdrawn made it that much easier for the favourite. Perhaps if the Classics were run in September Roger Varian would have a better hand in them but he never quite seems to be represented the way you would think given the ammunition he gets.
