no surprise really .. I said from day 1 the aim is filtering the population through the healthcare system in numbers it can handle not stopping it.. it's that until a vaccine is found or everyone's had it
Yep, it's always been about controlling the flow through health systems. The UK are opening up quicker because we have hospitals literally standing empty. This is why they fluff and bluster around R numbers; they're not bothered about lives, the economy is more important - they're only worried about being able to handle it.
If you followed everything the scientific camp suggested lives would be saved if you followed everything the business world wanted lives would be lost A government’s job is to find the balance, so that when we come out of this, there is something to come back to We will be living with this the rest of the year minimum and if the NHS can cope and not be overwhelmed that will be classed as a good result ( not by me or anyone who has lost someone to covid) More people will die and more families will live with more loss
Had the government followed the lead of other countries, and been more decisive over critical decisions, the new daily infection rate would probably be lower, so, should a 2nd spike come, there would be an improved chance of it being better controlled. Instead, it will more than likely still be widespread in the community, with a sound footing. Three months in, their modelling is all to ****, and now they don't know whether to stick or twist. Lives v Economy is the inevitable choice going forward, an unenviable one, but three months arguably wasted or not used to the best, hasn't helped.
Basically, herd immunity, which was being followed until the modelling faltered and Boris **** himself. Arguably, it still is, but by stealth.
Its unrealistic but if if every household quarantined entirely for 14 days would the pandemic be over? IE everybody who has it will no longer be a carrier after that period and therefore nobody can catch it. Its massively unrealistic though as people will die anyway as hospitals shut down, crime would be rampant with no police etc etc but would that have worked??
Impossible, the majority of cases in every single country were citizens coming home with the illness already. If your mum caught it abroad would you force her to remain in a foreign country?
you voted Boris so there's nothing I can say that will stop you defending the handling of this mate. it's all his fault in my eyes and all nobodies fault in yours
