Now it may have escaped your notice but I do not like The Beatles. The original manufactured boy band with twee lyrics to go along with muzak by numbers. However there are 2 or 3 songs by them that I like, with 2 of them being written by the only talented one in the group, George Harrison. Something While My Guitar Gently Weeps. The other? Hey Jude by McCartney. I wonder what his favourite soup is?
If you're a fan it's a bit like how long is a piece of string, similar with Bowie,Stones,Dylan,Westlife etc
I went to see The Beatles - Love at the Mirage in Las Vegas last year. Excellent show with great use of the Fab Four's songs. I'm not the worlds biggest Beatles fan but certainly appreciate their skills at songwriting. If pressed I'd say; Norwegian Wood (I have learned how to play this on guitar) Taxman Paperback Writer Twist and Shout (cover I know) We Can Work It Out
Agreed. **** songs, **** voice and that god awful ****ing squeaky harmonica. Great lyricist but the music is ****ing awful. Should have just been a poet.
In my opinion, "Something" is the Beatles' finest moment, and it wasn't even written by Lennon and/or McCartney. The likes of Frank Sinatra and Elvis adored the song and would often perform it live.
Sorry mate my reply above was meant for ER as a wind up. I then couldnt edit it cos I stuck it in the comment box. Harrison is my favourite too. Do stand by my Frank n Elvis are **** though
