I don’t think you can blame him that much tbh he had a right shambles when he came in, took him wks if not months before the players where fit enough to last a while 90 mins.
Got to be out for me. Some of the football particularly away from home was embarrassing. Can’t remember the exact stats but 8 goals in 14 games or something. Just shocking. Mind god knows what team of journeyman we will have come next season.
Update from CEO Jim Rodwell "Our sole focus moving forward must be to build a squad that is capable of winning this division next season. I have spoken to Phil Parkinson at length and we have a very clear idea of what we need to achieve that goal. “It is our responsibility to put that plan into action immediately and ensure that whenever the 2020-21 season begins, we are ready.” Think that's made it pretty clear Parkinson isn't going anywhere
This just goes from bad to worse. The only silver lining from a personal viewpoint is that none of my family have contracted this awful disease, so far that is. As for the football I've lost complete interest in it and am not surprised the lower leagues have been chucked under a bus by its so called masters.
We could well have gone up, or at least made the playoffs, under him if the season had finished properly. He's not an exciting choice but he's done about as well as he could with the players/resources available to him.
He's as good as we'll get while in Lge1. We need a set of players with the mental strength to play for a club the size of Safc. Too many aren't upto it.
It’s as simple as that, mate. The worry is that they replace him with Butch Dingle out of Emmerdale as he got promoted on Football Manager in 1992 or some ****. Whoppers.
If the current ownership remain in situ, changing manager is like rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic If the ownership changes, I would like to see a change in management
I thought I was becoming ambivalent to Sunderland's plight, but sadly this club is embedded in my DNA. Anyway, I believe that one action will follow another. If Donald sells up, the new owners almost certainly will get their own guy in. If Donald stays Parkinson stays, but for me a 3rd season in this Godforsaken division will prove a bridge too far for many fans and they will vote with their feet. Because of this, I have a feeling that Donald will sell up before next season and we will have another change in manager.
The Covid crisis has brought us to our knees as a country, and has hit the club hard.. I would like to see the country and SAFC use this as an opportunity to change direction. Rebuild a better country rather than bailing out the Lord Greens and go green. At SAFC take this opportunity to build a team using Academy players with the best of whats left. I'm not sure that PP is the man for the job tbh but we may have to back him regardless same with SD who I think gets a bad deal from the supporters. If we are to change managers, and I doubt that we will, we could do worse than give JoS a crack, and how about Robbie Stockdale back at the Academy.
