At Newmarket's 2yo day last October two that went into my little red book were Trefoil and King Leonidas. Let's see what happens today.
Obrien might regret not running Peaceful today, form well franked there by Run Wild. Must have a good chance in the consolation race at the Curragh.
haydock,3 15: quite a few to be considered here, but i feel, that SPACE BLUES has just about the best form in the book.his narrow second in the jersey stakes last season was boosted by the winner(space traveller)a few starts later, who won the boomerang stakes in ireland.my first thought was urban icon, but then he was already twice behind my selection, and he has to carry a penalty too.so,definite shout today for SPACE BLUES.
Something went wrong with my post there NDS lol I'd struggle to pick my nose at the moment, let alone a winner. Space Blues next at Haydock - get cashing out!
Looks like the usual with these Ralph Beckett back end winners not delivering much at 3. Max Vega, Kinross and Trefoil all well beaten.
Mightily impressive from Run Wild there. She shot them to pieces and then some. I was right in thinking she was better value than her stablemate. Alpen Rose had form tied in with Run Wild but she was never in it today. Slowly away and always further back than you would have wanted, she made some headway briefly but her run petered out. I would be worried if she has trained on looking at that. The favourite pulled too hard early and has an extravagant action. She was a silly price in my opinion this morning. Trefoil and Queen Daenerys ran quite well but it was a one filly race. I had said coming in that three fillies dominated the ratings thus far and sadly I picked the ****tiest one of the trio on the day. 8/1 Run Wild for the Oaks now and that could be shorter still after the 1000 Guineas.
Couldnt be having Run Wild for the Oaks, be surprised if she even runs. Wouldnt stay in a horse box as they say.
Something went wrong there, Space Blues winning ... I expect the Magic Sign to lodge an objection so they can keep more of me dosh All about Quadrilateral now!
Good old Space Blues, supplemented for the Derby last year and backed by myself on the heads of it, shows once again that Charlie Appleby and I both got the wrong signals from his mile win on soft as a 2YO. He's a funny sort of horse and I think he needed that 7th furlong today but I doubt he would be better at a mile. I guess they will be scouring around for 7F races this season.
I'm with Quadrilateral, I'd be very happy to see Raffle prize run well. This weekend has been very much a front-runner's game, on breeding you'd not think that RP would stay, but if he gets away from the field, he could well hang on for at least a place. Although you could probably say that about a few here.
In hindsight, the fact that hes sent such a good filly to Ireland probably was a hint that Love had improved, the money for her in both classic markets as well told you the vibes were strong about her. 7/4 for the Oaks
Love pissed it. Well done Benoit Blanc, take a bow. 20/1 is massive shout. A funny old race and I was surprised Quadrilateral was so prominent early. I couldn't understand the prices on Raffle Prize and Millisle. Two probable sprinters and Jessica Harrington may as well have stayed at home with the filly she was confident about getting a mile. Skinny for the Oaks now but Love looked likely to stay based on the way she came away. Boomer was poor but then everything was pretty poor really. You could argue Quadrilateral may yet do better but she was put firmly in her place today. Cracking shout Benoit and I love seeing ante-post punters rewarded to confound those who say it is a mugs game.
well, what can you say about MILLISLE?not sure,if something was amiss during the closing stages,at least the jockey probably thought so,as he stopped riding, before getting a bit more animated again.but she was out of contention anyway at that time.but something tells me,that wasnt her true run today..also possible, like grendel stated, that it was the distance.
