You know what they say "Spare the Rod" etc. That might help anyone who is a bit dim. There you go two puns for the price of one.
If you run out of puns, I'll lens you one. Though I retina be ages before we shake this from the thread. I'm sure though I have the sclera to do it.
Now that we have all made spectacles of ourselves perhaps we should all focus on the topic of this thread. That's my view anyway.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52949014 So, black lives matter, but **** the rest of the population because they're angry?
I get what you are saying and it is madness to be so close to others at the moment, but when the placards say "Black Lives Matters", they don't mean exclusively that they matter, they mean "Black Lives Matter as well". But I get your point. Madness to gather in the middle of a pandemic.
I'm not arguing about black lives matter ing, I'm just shocked at the stupidity of mass gathering, for any reason
The gatherings are pretty hard to justify in current circumstances. The strength of feeling behind them is real however, and the authorities (in the UK I mean, the USA can look after itself) should be paying attention.
This is how I feel too. Fully back the movement, especially in America. But a lot of people could be spreading covid around at these gatherings and that's a scary thought
CEO NHS Providers "It's the latest in a long line of announcements that have had a major impact on the way the NHS operates, in which frontline organisations feel they've been left completely in the dark, and they're then expected to make significant and complex operational changes either immediately or with very little notice." He said trust leaders were worried there was not enough strategy or planning and that it felt like "last minute decisions are being made on the hoof that seem overly influenced by politics and that need to fill the space of the Downing Street press conferences
I am sure that the authorities in the UK are paying attention, and rubbing their hands with glee. This is giving them a perfect excuse for if/when a second spike occurs as they can point the finger at these gatherings as the reason, when it could easily be due to their poor planning and easing of the lockdown too soon. It also plays into their herd immunity strategy.
