Seriously.....If they do have a test that can be returned within 24 hours....why aren't they doing that for passengers wanting to fly. Presumably they can issue a certificate or something to say they test negative with in the last say 48 hours or so ?

Do 'they' have a reliable and available test that can be returned in 24 hours? Who are they by the way? I googled this "are there coronavirus test kits available in the UK now, in June, that can be returned in 24 hours?". Found this https://www.bbc.com/news/health-51943612 some points from the article
    "Can I get tested
In England and Wales anyone with symptoms can get a swab test." Assume then not available to those that want to fly for work or leisure
"Boris Johnson has pledged tests would be processed within 24 hours by the end of June, except where there were difficulties with the post." Johnson pledged ha ha ha. yeah spaffer yeah.
"How reliable are the tests?" This a biggy.
"'Scientists at the University of Bristol believe 20% of positive cases could falsely appear as negative, wrongly telling someone they are not infected." Anyone flying could be sharing their journey with that person.
Who in their right mind wants to fly, or travel at all by whatever means unless it's an unavoidable necessity.
Destination choices will also limited and a 14 day quarantine on return to be in place from 8 June, or face a £1,000 fine. Arrivals must also provide contact and accommodation information,.
https://www.theguardian.com/travel/...navirus-travel-restrictions-lockdown-measures this a moving target changing day by day.

UK official death toll hits 40,261, with 357 deaths yesterday. Actual number will be much higher. USA total now over 110,000.

Both governments seem to believe they are in control of the situation.

They consider themselves to be successful. Nadhim Zahawi on question time proud of the government's record, gobshite. Talking all the debunked numbers ie 200K tests blah blah blah. Repeat until considered true.

Every time someone says that they have handled the crisis well, they should be reminded that the original belief was “keeping the deaths below 20000 would be a good result”.
With figures now exceeding 40000, and ONS figures being, I believe 60000+, every single government apologist should have this statistic thrown at them, just as a reminder for the voting public as to just how much they have failed by.

Along with other countries UK included having entry restrictions. Staycation, there's a nice castle near Durham worth a visit so a source at number 10 said.

Good job Beddy is no longer a mod...he’d give us a Beddystare if he was for derailing the thread.

I never notice. I’m blind to it.
