So by the looks of it, membership payments restarting and on top of that you have to pay extra to stream remaining games? Or am I getting that wrong?
It would, but remember who we're dealing with here. They've not been able to piss us off lately so this is ideal for them.
I am reading this as members will have to pay to watch the last 4 games, and then some kind of new membership scheme with options to stream games instead of attending the KCOM for the foreseeable future.
I don't read it that way, it basically says you've had what you've paid for and now there'll be a streaming service to pay for to watch the remainder of this seasons games (and quite possibly next seasons games as well). I don't think the membership scheme will be reinstated until we can attend again.
Some clarification from the club, it's basically as I thought... Essentially members haven’t paid for the last four games of the season because of the payment holidays in last two months. Therefore there will be a cost for streaming matches - but that will obviously be a lot cheaper as a family of 4 will only need one stream rather than 4 memberships. Therefore rather than paying two months of 4 memberships, they’ll just have to pay for one stream per game...a lot cheaper! Most clubs will be giving streaming passes in place of season passes that people have already paid for, so I think our fans are in a better position because they aren’t out of pocket...and to use my family of 4 analogy, some clubs will be giving 4 streaming passes...when they only need 1! Streaming will be totally optional and payable through our steaming site. Seems perfectly reasonable to me.
In which case, it seems reasonable. I had read the original statement that normal membership payments would be started again after the end of this season, but if we're switching to some kind of streaming deal instead then that's fine. I'm happy to pay a fee to support the club if its a reasonable cost, bound to be lots of hooky streams though. I've never used Tiger tv, and have been a bit wary based on match day comments. I hope whatever is going on behind the scenes it will cope with the numbers of people streaming and work ok.
So when are they intending to recommence membership payments? They punted that announcement in the earlier communication.
Lets hope the City matches don't clash with too many of the free-to-air premier league matches as I can see that impacting who is prepared to pay to watch ours live.
We don't know, but I think it will be very difficult for the club to reinstate it while we're unable to attend games.
Be interesting to see the official attendances. Also how many police will be there on double time. Will the bridge still be open on match days.?
They will clash with PL games. Sky are showing their live EFL games against BT’s PL games like they normally would. Any others that aren’t on Sky are still being shown in time slots when there are PL games.
It will be interesting to see what they will do with the sound, anyone who has ever been to a reserve match will know what the language is like.
I have watched a few German games on line and they have a 'crowd' soundtrack on behind the commentary, it seems to work OK.
