exactly, so it's easier to piss off a minority. think along the lines of a scummy pub landlord... if there's a problem it doesn't matter who's right wrong.. you throw out the minority in the conflict
I think the problem is as I said - nobody wants to say that the member clubs get a vote on a new owner, for this very reason. Yet when it doesn't happen to THEM, they'll have an issue. I think Man C will be fine with it, for geopolitical reasons - UAE aren't going to risk pissing Saudi off. But Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, etc., will all strongly object. However, the rules are written so the only thing any can object to is the piracy claim. That claim has no legs - there is no BeoutQ operating in Saudi or using Arabsat. There are no more piracy issues in Saudi than there are in the UAE, USA, UK, China, etc. So the PL is probably trying their best to see if they can reject it without repercussions based on what they'll say is piracy, but what in reality is other clubs objecting. The PL and big 6 probably wouldn't mind us being owned by a middlingly rich consortium or individual - the Reubens, for example. But they do not want the hierarchical threat. So the PL have to decide - do I reject in on the pretence of piracy and risk the wrath of Saudi's legal team? Or do I pass it and risk the wrath of our existing member clubs, who for all we know may be threatening with Euro league breakaway? Whatever the outcome, I think this is the beginning of the end of the PL as we know it. I reckon they'll initially reject it and deal with the financial repercussions from the legal challenge, then pass it somewhere down the line when the Court of Arbitration or High Court approve it, with the PL grudgingly accepting the decision having done "all they could - sorry Sir Alex, out of our hands". It's all about saving face to people like Richard Masters.
I wish they would STFU.. they'll get their refund one way or the other... they're just causing trouble at a delicate time
It is a good job that before you replied to this I gave you another explanation but of course that does not suit your narrative
