Takeover (Covid-19/20)

I thought about this as well - I cannot imagine for one second ANY club wants this to happen. For those striving to reach new heights, those trying to reclaim thrones or those aiming for dominance, more competition is bad for business. Whilst this has no LEGAL bearing on the test, as you rightly say there will be a tonne of underhand threats going on that the PL has to manage.

 

But they could be trying their level best to find any old reason to fail it. A signature was not signed within the confines of the box provided. Or on the other hand they could be trying their level best jumping over numerous obstacles in order to approve it. Paying off people who are raising objections. God knows!

 

I get the impression that it wont be the Premier League that would make the final decision but somebody higher up, some sort of Don.........Alex Ferguson or someone like that!

 

I'm so pleased we have VAR now....I could see ref's being absolute ****S to us when we have a team of galatico's tearing Liverpool and City to shreds.

Hi all. I've occasionally frequented not606 without ever creating an account, I thought it only polite to introduce myself as I've been lurking more frequently in a futile attempt to gain more insight into the takeover.

I'm as frustrated as the rest of you. So much so, that I sent an email/rant to the PL yesterday. It was cathartic and sent without any expectation of a reply. I was quite surprised therefore, when I received one.

As the organising body for our competition our processes in these matters preclude us from commenting publicly on any aspect of owners' and directors' test applications. I hope you will understand that we are unbale to provide a detailed response, however we appreciate you getting in touch and we do note your view. Each of our member clubs is an individual organisation and can look to provide its own updates or information on these areas at the appropriate time.

It tells us absolutely nothing that we didn't already know. The statement when/if it comes, will be from the club/interested party, not the PL.

if it's failed Ashley will tell us nothing... the time will pass until such time as everyone figures it out and it's just accepted

He'll mention his £17m windfall and will use it to buy a failing company out

 

This is definitely possible. PL won't say, Ashley definitely won't say. Charnley will just trot out "business as usual".
