Another example of anyone but Bob Dylan doing a better job of Bob Dylan's songs... ...with one notable exception Was that album recorded on a Native American burial ground or something?
Err that was Jonathan King mate, he had to go on holiday at her majesty's pleasure because he couldn't keep little Jonathan in his pants and out of young Boys pants
He did help discover Genesis (a pro for me but I doubt for many on here). They were what punk was reacting to.
Although jonny rotten admits to being a prog fan , I'm a big Genesis fan, I saw them back in the Foxtrot days, Watford Top Rank when it was a suede head soul boy venue , Peter Gabriel comes out in a red spotty dress with a foxes mask on and later as a flower , Trick of the tail is never far from my turntable
That's the one that Gabriel is always being congratulated for even though he had already left. Selling England by the Pound and Lamb lies down on Broadway are great albums too.
I know that I may come across as slightly obsessive - But Paul Weller played on one of the tracks on Peter Gabriel 3 (his 3rd eponymous album) released 1980 Gabriel wanted Weller specifically to play on this song
As did Kate Bush - who was and is my musical obsession. I love all of Gabriel's albums, not a weak one among them
It is hard to tell the difference between Gabriel's and Collins voices live, I think Collins was taking the main shift on vocals while Gabriel pounced about on stage , Collins takes a lot of stick for his antics but there are few better drummers out there and a good vocalist too
I agree. He did go off on quite a melancholic path for a while. He was like the mate crying into his beer six months after a breakup. Needed to cheer up a bit. That said, I did like Face Value.
I know that he's supposed to be a fellow Spurs fan, but it's hard to take his **** seriously when he dumped his wife by fax. His daughter was lucky enough not to inherit his looks, though. Not sure if she's any good on the drums.
Stevie Winwood does not get better than this , the sheer perfection of the acoustic guitar and his voice leave me in a very happy place
I'm sorry to say that even though Adele is a Tottenham girl Bonnie Raite blows her out of the water with vocals and feeling , Bonnie has lived that heart ache
