It seems to me this Virus situation is going to seriously change things in football as well as many other things in life in the future. Particularly in the championship, whether a 50% salary cap on clubs turnover will be brought in, clubs that were overstretching themselves to try and make the EPL will have to think again.
Probably not but I suppose you get onto dangerous ground when you excuse one person's knobishness because hes slightly less knobby than someone else. Ashley's staffing/pay structure in his retail enterprises can be seen as exploitative (I know zero hours works for some but most are left in limbo). He seems to have bypassed any sort of concept of keeping a happy workforce that would be loyal to him. He, like the Allams, has been openly dismissive of the NUFC fan base. He has alienated club legends, potential ambassadors of his brand. All of his faults could be easily remedied too. With a decent bit of PR behind him and a bit of humility to reverse some of the poor decisions he'd be a decent owner. He's spent big, appointed good managers and in the early days showed a real passion for the club. In short, I cant see how we'd be any better off with Ashley than Allam.
We'd go from aiming to avoid relegation, to aiming to get promoted, I'd say that was a fairly major improvement. Though I've no idea why this discussion has gone on so long, there's no chance he'd want to buy us.
Even though this is a bit of a pointless debate as I can't see Ashey being remotely interested in us, but if he was, then I suspect he would probably be more favourable with fans, as our expectations are no were near Newcastle's fan base.
Hmmm John, you not remember bruceys last year and second year in the pl Need to get to the next level etc etc Plenty of deluded city fans too
Newcastle United takeover Q&A: Will Saudi-led takeover pass owners’ and directors’ test? https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/52486838
If the World Cup is held in Qatar which our FA has obviously gone along with, why should anyone be bothered about the Saudi's buying Newcastle, Qatar also has terrible human rights issues, just in building the new stadium's hundreds of lives have been lost, The FA don't care about that do they?
I guess the intervention by the Khashoggi woman might scupper Ashley's desire to offload the barcodes and buy City!!!!! Typical City!!
Interesting interview with Sluts https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/leonid-slutsky-hull-city-allam-4178801
Amazing he can still have such a positive attitude about it. It is crazy to think we had some big wins in his tenure, and if Hernandez had remained fit we may have been a whole lot better.
Part two of the Slutsky interview... https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/leonid-slutsky-hull-city-fans-4183383 He regularly looked out of his depth, but its hard to dislike the bloke.
“When I spoke for the first time with Ehab, he told me out only three players,” said Slutsky. “He would try to keep the whole team and spend £20m for new players.
