    FLYING ALETHA.

    LIME.

I'm not too sure how much news I'll be able to find on the Ward team, but I'll see what I can do. As things stand, the stable has just two horses in the England at the moment. The pair were flown from Miami to Amsterdam then vanned to the UK. It seems that there may be a a fair number of horses to make the trip across the big pond. Ward has 10 Royal Ascot victories to his name, so anything he saddles for the meeting might be worth thinking about.

One of those who has already arrived is a maiden winner by the name of Flying Aletha. The two year old filly won at Gulfstream Park on 21 May beating her stablemate Lime. It's a pretty big step up from a maiden win to an event at Ascot, but she looked impressive. The second placed horse may also make the trip.

Ward said of Flying Aletha. "She's been working unbelievable at Palm Meadows on the turf. For her to do what she did today on the dirt and beat my other filly, who was 2-5, really says a lot about her. She's going to have a big future."

Lime may also make it's way to Ascot.

    KIMARI.

Another who looks like making the trip is the 3 year old Kimari, a filly who finished second of twenty five last year at Ascot beaten a head by Raffle Prize. Her target at the moment is the G1 Commonwealth Cup. Kimari has had 2 wins since then and a very solid third in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, where she was slowly away, checked and trapped wide on corner before powering home late to finish fourth.

No 7. Two tone green checks, green cap, light green sleeves.

    BOUND FOR NOWHERE.

Ward speaks highly of the 6 year old he himself owns. Bound For Nowhere has shown up at Ascot for the last two meetings and has performed well. He finished second in the Jubilee in 2018, before pulling a muscle and finishing down the track behind Blue Point in the same race last year. He hasn't started since.

Ward on Bound For Nowhere: “He pulled a muscle up high last year [when down the field in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes] and it took quite a bit of time to get him back,” Ward says. “Then he had a big win in his final race of the year at Belmont, he ran a big race at Santa Anita in his Ascot prep when he was beaten on the line and he’s had some eye-opening breezes. So look out for him as well.”

Bound For Nowhere's third in the 2018 Jubilee.

    GOLDEN PAL.

Another 2 year old they're talking of taking across is Golden Pal. He's had just the one run when second in mid April. I don't know what the story was, but the horse exploded through the first 2 furlongs at a frenetic speed. Maybe it got away or was badly ridden, but it ran out of steam towards the finish, which had to be expected.

    FAUCI.

The above named, two year old colt is another big hope for Ward. The colt will make his debut at Belmont Park in 2 days. If he races as expected, Fauci will fly out on the 5th. Hopefully we can get film of the Belmont race.

From what I gather, Ward will have 7 UK visitors.

    * GOLDEN PAL. Norfolk Stakes. 8-1.
    * SUNSHINE CITY. Windsor Castle Stakes. 6-1.
    * SHERIFF BIANCO. Windsor Castle Stakes. 8-1.
    * KIMARI. Commonwealth Cup.
    * CAMPANELLE. Queen Mary Stakes. 9-2.
    * ROYAL APPROVAL. Queen Mary Stakes. ? Maybe a NR.
    * FLYING ALETHA. Albany Stakes. 6-1.

This was Sunshine City's winning run.

He wasn't the fastest away and took some rousting in the early stages of the race. To be honest he looked done for after 2 furlongs and even turning for home he seemed under pressure and unlikely to be involved. They did seem to fall in a heap in front though and the hard ridden Sunshine City eventually scored what had looked unlikely to be a decisive victory.

Not sure he will get away with being detached in the early stages at Royal Ascot and Frankie will surely be looking to get him up there early.

Flying Althea was impressive but we have seen some of Wesley's come unstuck in the 6F races at Royal Ascot. I am on More Beautiful in the Albany at 9/2 and am hoping she will appreciate the 6F more than the Ward filly.
