So do you have no issues when we locked down as we were following the scientific advice, at the time?

My dad, who is 89, has been popping out occasionally to get the paper, despite the fact he and my mum have neighbours who shop for them. I tried talking him out of it, so did my mum, and their GP. **** it, on balance the benefit he gets from walking up a deserted street to get his paper like he’s been doing for years, probably outweighs the risk.

Being reported that schools are again closing in South Korea following a spike in cases, just as we are going to open our own schools.

We were too slow to lock down. The Govt had already been ignoring advice from medical experts because they were still dithering over the herd immunity approach.

You seriously still buy that ****.

Boris Johnson admitted at the select committee that he hasn't seen any of the SAGE data or minutes.

We now know that Cummings was in the SAGE meetings and reported back with his interpretation ( this is the man caught retrospectively amending his blog to make it appear that he was warning about covid19 last year)

The data we have seen from SAGE contradicts the government's decisions and the decisions are at odds with WHO advice.

Quarantining travelers from next week instead of from the beginning, stopping track and trace, allowing large gatherings when the risk was greatest, not recommending face coverings to avoid making the PPE shortage worse.
These are not scientific choices, they are political ones that the government are attempting to use a politicised advisory group to justify.

It’s a difficult one to find a balance with. My old dear had just started to get back on her feet after my father’s death. Going out to a few social clubs and making some friends, then all of a sudden she was isolated again.

I’ve been trying to manage her own mental health with also trying to ensure she doesn’t expose herself to unnecessary risk.

I was reading the proposed rule changes for rugby yesterday as they try to come up with ideas to reduce spread. Mainly it includes speeding up play so there's less time with piles of bodies on the floor and less face-to-face smashing. They're also going stop celebrations with teammates when, like that will make a difference when they've just had their face up someone elses armpit.

Surely no matter what they do it's impossible to reduce the spread with 80 minutes of quite intense contact? People are picking it up touching shelves once in a supermarket and rugby bosses think that if a ruck is 3 seconds instead of 5 then players won't be spreading it. Madness.

A sport reliant on drinking your teammate’s piss and getting ****ed off by the youth team as an initiation isn’t really compliant with social distancing and should probably just be banned forever.

Unless you’re talking about League. I like League.

That's because they care about whether people get infected and ill rather than whether there is enough beds to put the sick.

Our government have made that choice.

I'll put my cards on the table, I'm not sending my daughter back to school. Not before Sept at the earliest and even then I'll assess the situation and decide then.

For me, it seems that the whole drive to open schools is based on the Govt telling people to get back to work and the subsequent childcare that will then be needed.

    Well that's below the belt.

Union is a working class game here, but then everything is because everyone's working class

'The legal rules inevitably do not cover all circumstances, including those that I found myself in.' - Dominic Cummings

Your wife was ill, you thought you were infectious and you've got a kid. Those circumstances are not exceptional. They're commonplace.
