Sort of yeah. Only snag is players haven’t agreed to it yet. Might be a bit of a problem. At least surely another week will decide what’s happening next

The NRL players here agreed to return to play rugby only for the referees to threaten strike action. It's never over until the fat lady sings

    EFL STATEMENT: CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

    Statement.

The EFL Board met yesterday to consider the feedback and subsequent implications of last week’s Divisional Club meetings, as the League continues to address the many complex financial and operational matters resulting out of the COVID-19 crisis, including how the 2019/20 campaign is concluded.

The various proposals and counter proposals received from Clubs have been reviewed and, as a result, the Board has finalised the draft framework that would be adopted into EFL Regulations, in the event a division is to make the decision to curtail its season as League Two indicated last Friday.

Clubs are now required to give the matter further consideration, before the Board formally proposes the appropriate Regulation changes, which will then be voted on by all Clubs.

The recommended framework is as follows:

    1. Resuming the 2019/20 season with the existing format remains the most appropriate course of action from a sporting integrity perspective, but the Board accepts there are circumstances that may lead to curtailment, (as has been demonstrated with League Two) or a situation subsequently transpires whereby the season is unable to conclude.

    2. This means that in the event of an early curtailment:

    • Final divisional placings should be determined on unweighted points per game (if required).
    • Promotion and relegation should be retained.
    • Play-Offs should be played in all circumstances but should not be extended (beyond four teams).
    3. If a scenario arises whereby the Play-Offs cannot be played, the EFL Board will determine the appropriate course of action.

    4. The Board considers that the majority required to curtail the 2019/20 Season in any division should be 51%. Determining whether or not to curtail the season is a decision for each division to take.

    5. The principle of relegation across all three divisions is integral to the integrity of the pyramid, from the Premier League down to the National League, provided we have assurances that the National League will start Season 2020/21 (i.e. the relegated Club in League Two has somewhere to play).

    6. Any regulatory solution should be relevant and specific to the current challenges posed by the COVID-19 outbreak and reach a conclusion that is clear and effective with the impact and justifications easy for all stakeholders to understand.

    EFL Chair, Rick Parry, said:

“In the event a divisional decision is made to curtail the 2019/20 season, the EFL Board is recommending that the League adopts the original framework with the amendments as identified, as there is a strong desire to remain as faithful as possible to the Regulations and ensure there is consistency in the approach adopted across the EFL in all divisions.

“The Board has always acknowledged that a single solution to satisfy all Clubs would always be hard to find, but we are at the point now where strong, definitive action is need for the good of the League and its members.”

    Who's upset, where?

He said Leeds and West Brom are brave wanting to play out the season, rather than accepting a ppg scenario, what's to get upset about.

Are you sure you are spelling Lansdowne correctly? I've never heard of Lansdown.

Had a spare few minutes, so had a look into this, he said it would be a "hollow victory", guess what, most Leeds fans have said pretty much the same, the vast majority, want the season played out, if not then ppg , if not that then standings as they are, because no matter what happens there needs to be promotion and relegation.
Now with regard to us getting upset at his comments, when you said "you lot" I thought you meant the good folk on here, but no,no mention of it,my usual perusal of MOT forum, waccoe and the Scratching Shed, guess what, not one post about it, that's 4 fan sites and the only person to bring it up is you, hardly think we're getting upset do you?
Then I take a look at a few papers and yes, there are a couple of hand fulls of quotes from twitter responding to his comments but I wouldn't worry, there is more of a backlash on there when one of our ex players, usually Mills or Whelan come out with something. Interestingly though, there were just as many replies from West Brom fans who you seem to have forgot to mention on your crusade, interesting comment from one " he's only upset because we thrashed them, doubt he'd be as outspoken if they were in the top 6".
So there you have it,it appears that it's about 20 users of Twitter both Leeds and West Brom and you that are interested in this, with you trying to make something of nothing, as with regard Lansdowne irritating us all the time, other than spygate and Nketiah choosing us,I cant recall anything else he's ever said. Are you sure it's not you that's obsessed and trying to create something that's not really there.

Good point but what you're forgetting is 20 replies is a colossal amount to some clubs #theoneswithsmallfanbases

Not the outcry from the club or fans you were trying to create the picture of though is it.

Now can you show us where it happens that we get irritated by him 'all the time'

I personally am not obsessed with Leeds at all. I just mentioned it as it was brought to my attention. If that classes as ‘obsessed’ then I’m ‘obsessed’ with everything I do.
I would personally take promotion for my club however it was served. Would it be ‘devalued’? Probably, but I wouldn’t care - I’d just let fans of other clubs do all the caring for me. They would probably point to the asterisk against my club against the 2019-20 season stats but that’s their problem.
Having said that, of course I’d be irritated if that happened because we are 7th and with a very real shot of reaching the playoffs - as are some other clubs too. I would suggest that fans of most clubs in our position would be annoyed - as would fans of clubs that would be relegated under that arrangement too - Charlton entered the drop zone in the last game played - it’s only normal for football fans to be annoyed when something beyond their control negatively affects their beloved club.
I don’t come on here to pick a fight - just to debate.

Wasn't fighting, just debating but you really were making a mountain out of a mole hill.
You made out we were all up in arms about his comment,as apparently we do all the time, according to your goodself, but we aren't.

And yes, all fans would look at their own situation and call for this that and the other, the season needs finishing so all the doubt can be put to bed but there will still be some upset at that.

That’s just what the article suggested - and there was a mention of the old ‘Spygate’ incident too. Glad it’s exaggerating - I wouldn’t want anything to spoil the love and mutual respect we have <cheers>
Like I said, I just saw that article and posted. I didn’t bother researching to see if it was being reported elsewhere. Perhaps I shouldn’t be so trigger happy when it’s late and I’m 5 pints in.....
