Just bought a load of picnic stuff for tmrw...Twins birthday and it’s gonna be lovely weather....will use my common sense, sit in the park away from others and enjoy the sunshine with my family (well not Mrs S as she’s still got the hump and had a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp).
    Cheers all !!

I have just watched the Liasion Committee interogation of Boris. First over the Cummings affair, in which he stuttered and stumbled alarmingly, and basically said that is was just all media lies, and Cummings had told him what had happened. He was asked if he had seen proof, and Boris said yes...and someone asked him to share it with the committee. He said no, as the committee and all MPs had too much to do and it was distraction ..

and then in the second part when Jeremy Hunt (who last time I looked was a Tory) tore him apart over the trace and test system

Why had we stopped it in March?....not enough equipment. Why ? because we couldn't get any?
When you are asked to stay at home by the Tracers after contact with a CoVid positive is it compulsory...he nearly said it was until he realised what that meant...It is advisory, but of course I am sure the British public will (will they?)

If you are told to stay at home will you get a test...not if you are assymptomatic
Why?....no need as as you haven't got the virus (that is wrong by the way), so why are you being told to stay at home...because you might have the virus...so can they have the test...no! So you are told to stay at home by a man on a telephone who tells you you "might" have been in contact with someone who might have the virus.

Why do test results take so long to come back after submission (48-72hr, other countries <24hrs)...because the labs are too slow....so how you going to speed it up (and as a scientist I had a heart attack when he said this) THEY ARE THINKING OF DOING THEM IN BATCHES. !!!!!!!

I am sad to say, I do not think Boris is in any sort of control at the moment . I do not think he is ontop of any of the situations. It is worrying...and I am not saying that from any party point of view.

There are lots of Torys I have not liked, but have grudging appreciation for their intelligence...Thatcher Heath, Major, Cameron for example.

Gove is an extremely intelligent man, as is Sunak and Javed both mega brains. Boris though is not the brightest sandwich in the picnic even if he can speak Latin

Like I’ve said on the politics thread, he’s a pantomime pm. At no point has this man appeared to have any substance, deal in details. He has always been a character who throws out a meaningless phrase or two who plays up to a pandering proportion of the media.

It really is time the grown ups dealt with it.

    Scores on the doors!
UK 2,013 new cases today and 412 deaths, 552 deaths per million!
Sweden 648 new cases, 95 deaths, 418 deaths per million.

we are smashing them. Just as a reminder, Sweden’s strategy is to social distance, but trust people and not close everything and accept that infection rates will be higher. The UK government’s strategy is.........errr, answers on a postcard to D. Cummings, c/o Mater and Pater, County Durham. And he’ll tell the government what to say. Probably in the form of a three word slogan - he’s a communication genius you know - Take back Control, Get Brexit Done - they are what he is famous and admired for. I’m guessing **** the Poor! is what he’d like to say.

Of all the things the government have done, this is by far their greatest success!

Tomorrow we trace and test....So how does this work, without a phone app of ANY sort

I am off on my daily exercise, I feel funny and all of a sudden I throw up, a nice man helps me to my feet, and sends me on my way.... I go home and do a test and I get the result back (probably 72 hours later).

Who did I meet, a very nice man, who I threw up over.
    Who was he

    NO IDEA

Does anyone know how this world beating track and trace will work?
Hancock says its 'civic duty' to isolate if you have the symptoms.......obviously he means from now on. Johno says people could get fined if they dont isolate!!
Dont make me ****ing laugh! What a load of ****e. Everybody knows what to say from now on.

As far as I can understand it, you will be asked to self isolate if you have spent 15 minutes within two metres of someone who subsequently tests positive for the virus and gives a ‘tracer’ your name and contact details. You will then be asked to stay at home and see no one for 14 days but will not be offered a test to see whether of not this is a complete waste of time. Even if the test has only a 60% chance of being accurate and probably won’t be reported on for ten days, it’s marginally better than ‘sit and wait’. And it helps Johnson meet a self imposed meaningless target!

So, your mate/family will have to shop you. It is almost calculated to be ignored, especially given the example set by Rasputin. ****ing ridiculous joke. The app, which I wouldn’t touch with a barge pole, doesn’t seem to be working.

Well I certainly wont be participating in anything of the sort! I wont be following any advice from the government but instead I will just stay alert and use my instinct. That instinct says dont believe a word this lying, corrupt set of bastards tell you!

Close contact for 15 minutes, that's a coincidence.

    Snap.

Believe it or not a couple of months ago I was full of goodwill for the government, even though I dislike them intensely, thought it was a really difficult thing to deal with, was sure everyone was trying their best and taking the science seriously, and it would be churlish and pointless to criticise for the sake of it, out of ideology.

Since then we have had the piss taken out of us constantly, been surrounded by lies from every quarter, seen the government advisors turn into pathetic yes people, and watched in horror as we have done just about the worst job of any country in the world in dealing with this. **** them, I will exercise common sense and treat anything they say with total scepticism.
