When Boris starts investing heavily in the North you can look forward to an inside loo and be able to ditch your tin bath.

Personally I'm more of a Green & Blacks man but it's all subjective. Long since gone off Cadbury's and Thornton's ain't what they used to be.

We all know about the Tories and their regional policies eh... Boris has failed big time over the last few weeks... working class people all over will not vote for him again.... and of course he will be the PM that oversaw the countries of the UK pull away, possibly be disintegration of the UK....... He cant even work with them on a Coronavirus strategy... he just made his own half cocked next phase proposals with Cummings prompting him with complete abandonment of the other countries....

You are well out of step with your fellow Northern dwellers who put their faith in Boris and Brexit. The Conservatives will continue to rule for at least another nearly 5 years, probably 10. By the time the next election comes around coronavirus and Cummings will not be issues. Labour has just suffered its worst result in 85 years, it is nigh on impossible for it to become the next government in 2024, the thrashing was so bad. The working class also rejected the feeble attempts to deny democracy by Bercow, LibDems, Miller etc. I'm pleased Boris has kept Cummings on, he may be an unpleasant character but he is an exceptional and successful strategist. His skills will be needed taking on the EU later in the year.

You have said it yourself 'Boris and Brexit' - as if nothing else mattered on this planet ! This is what happens when a large number of electors get duped into voting on one issue only. They thought they were getting a government whose mantra was 'lets get Brexit done' without thinking that governments should actually be competent for a whole range of matters - top of the list being coping with such a crisis as this. The flip side of course is that after this crisis there will be a financial package of 500 billion Euros and a further 250 billion in credit under favourable conditions going out to those European nations in need - and Britain now won't get a penny (sorry cent) of it !

There will be a lot of watering down of any rescue funds. It requires all members to agree plus it must get past your Constitutional Court. Any bailout will end up as loans with damaging strings attached. If you understood what they are proposing you would realise it is only long term borrowing which all EU members will need to pay back.

If you also read the recent forecast regarding the UK's recovery by the chief economist at the Bank of England you would be not be worried about the UK.

Watched Johnson this afternoon and wondered just how much detail he actually takes on. I don't want to talk about Cummings, so let's move on he says. Sorry he was there to answer questions, not pick and choose the ones he would like to answer. Clearly he didn't impress some more MPs who now say Cummings must go.

If confusion reigned before, Hancock has just added to it. If you get a call from someone telling you to isolate you must stay at home immediately, but the people living with you can carry on as normal. So you have been in contact with someone who may have the virus, but the person who lives with you can now go out and about and pass on what you might have. This seems quite bizarre.

It certainly does. Our council have just released details of the booking scheme for using the local rubbish transfer stations - anyone who has or lives with someone with symptoms, is in a risk category or lives in the same house as someone who is in a risk category is not allowed to book a slot. That makes sense to me - but I'm puzzled over what those of us who are not allowed to are supposed to do.

Odd that all these brexiters are happy to have our country run by what can only be described as a self serving, unelected, bureaucrat.... they can't even see the irony.

Coz if anyone thinks de Piffle is running the show they're a two bob note short of a Euro....

My post contained loads of facts:

Northerners rejected Labour and voted Conservative in huge numbers.
The Conservatives do not need to call an election for at least four and a half years.
Coronavirus and Cummings will not be an issue at the next GE.
Labour suffered its worst defeat in 85 years.
Cummings proved himself to be an excellent strategist for the 'Leave' camp and the last GE.

Which of the above is not patently correct?

Your own posts are the daft ones.

As my friend from England who has been on the phone for the past hour said, you would have to be pretty thick to not think that Johnson is a busted flush if he doesn't have Cummings moving his lips for him. He has emailed his MP to say that as far as he is concerned public safety should come before party considerations and wants Cummings out. Reckons he would not have felt so foolish if he hadn't voted in December.

Johnson admitted this afternoon that the country had not prepared for a major virus despite all the advice they had received. Did he forget that the advice was given while the Tory party was supposed to be running the country?
