We love those pitches on a cold and frosty morning. That’s why we produce such world class players these days

 

Those pitches built character, if everyone was forced to play on those pitches at youth level it may eradicate diving in the game. You don't throw yourself to the ground willingly on those ****ing things, and I'm a goalie.

 

We used to play on Gravel which was grim as **** with the big Metre 5's. Used to take about a month to break the balls in ffs they'd bounce all over the place

They had a grass and a sand pitch at my froggy school. Tackling on sand used to take half an inch of flesh off, with the added bonus of bits of stuff stuck in there. When it rained it became a ****ing sludgey waterslide. Good times...
