That's disgusting and 21 months is nowhere near enough.

I was bullied a bit in school, never too significantly but it did affect my enjoyment of school. As with most bullying, it ended when I fought back. Never been in a fight since I was inadvertently caught up in a scuffle when I was 18 and drink was involved. Can't imagine I'd ever need to be involved in violence ever again.

I genuinely think the only reason I evaded being bullied at school was because i was good at football and on the team. Without that outlet i dread to think how it may have been.

Someone tried to bully me when joined new middle school.

Stabbed him in the head with a wooden ruler and slammed his hands in the wooden desk draw.

    Never had a problem again.

I was never really bullied at school. There was one creepy lad literally twice my size who lived in my village who used to give me **** and threaten me on the bus home on a daily basis, one day he started chasing me through the streets, ordinarily I'd have been much faster than him but one of my shoes was coming off so I stopped abruptly, ducked, and he tried to grab me and stop at the same time but instead he missed and fell flat on his face in front of a street full of people. Never spoke to me again after that.

I was picked on , more in a mickey taking than nasty way , but was strangely protected from any chance of real bullying . The actual two big hard older lads , who on first interrogating me , asked who’s form I was in . I was in the art teachers . She happened to be a right tasty piece ( I use here 1969 language as it’s obviously not pc to describe a female in such a way today ) Because these two worshipped her , they declared that I was therefore “ok “ , and word seemed to spread that they were then in effect my “ security” as appparently they approved of me .
Thankyou Miss Dobson ( I think her name was) !

I was the first Geordie at a grammar school where the school song was sang in Latin and I had to wear short trousers and a cap with a tassle ...

... does anyone think that I was bullied <laugh>

Sadly most of it was from the teachers who hated their school being diluted by miners children.

I eventually pushed one of them so far that, in retaliation, he got me by the throat and pushed me halfway through a second storey window ...

    ... he was suspended <party>

I was bullied quite regularly once I started my secondary schooling . Stupid school uniform and having to carry a briefcase didn't help.

It was an all boys school being raised as a Catholic.

I was quite short/skinny until I reached 14 to 15 then I grew rapidly to reach 6' 2". I went to Karate classes around that period gained a brown belt grade. That gave me confidence.

I was always quiet and unassuming, always have been since. Not keen on fighting, I've tried to avoid confrontation, it's usually it's a mix of standing my ground whilst talking some sense to the aggressor.

Though, I made a point before leaving school, I had enough of the main school bully, he was nasty piece of work that victimised everyone, even the bloody teachers were wary of him.

I recall he wrapped me on the head with his knuckles, on the playing field. I saw red and grabbed the ****er in a head-lock, it was probably one the longest (seemed like hours) periods of my life, the funny thing was I knew the longer I kept him under my control the more demeaning it was for him.

As he constantly threatened to beat the **** out of me, I simply squeezed harder onto his neck. He was immobilised.

I eventually released him and let him go in front of the many of my peers, he knew I had bested him - there was lots of bluster and shouting afterwards but he always stayed out of my way afterwards.

Was never really bullied, even tho at school I was very small compared to my peers.
I got in with the cool crowd from my year, some of which were quite hard.
They liked me coz I was a cheeky mouthy fecker, and was a bit of a comic.
So I was always looked after me if there was any bother.
Wouldn’t have taken any crap off anybody like, even if I ended up getting a hiding.

It's a big worry for me as a parent of two young kids, you see so many reports these days of teenagers killing themselves over bullying, whether it's online or not, and their parents didn't have the faintest idea there was anything wrong. Horrendous.

I'd like to think I'm the sort of dad who has an open and honest relationship with his kids and I'm good at reading people but it's ****ing scary.

I wasn't bullied at school mainly because my elder brother was a bit of a headcase and the bullies probably didn't want to deal with any fallout.
In my case the people doing the bullying were mainly the Headmaster and the Deputy head. I was given 6 of the best for playing football in the play ground with half a tennis ball. Apparently we could have broken one of the windows - yeah sure <laugh><laugh><laugh>
Our school used a cane across the palm of your hand but then changed to a slipper across the backside.
Kids today have got no idea of how bad it used to be.

Got bullied by lasses at school. I was a tomboy and sat with the lads talking football. Got called a slag and all sorts for having male friends even though they were just mates and not boyfriends.

Only in the Juniors UNTIL my step father saw a lad slapping me around and gave me a piece of his mind.

It NEVER happened again and I took great pleasure in ramming the same lad's head down until it hit the bottom of the large aluminium? wheelie bin, that contained the left overs from the previous day's school dinners, when he tried it on again in the Seniors.

He had to be pulled out out by some of his cronies, before he drowned in custard/gravy etc but NEVER bothered me again.

Strange as it may seem, neither did anyone else once word went round.

Used humour to avoid it, had a good side kick as well, but bullying is awful, and very difficult to stamp out. Some of the worst cases I saw were from male teachers .
