Amazing how many column inches and how much airtime has been wasted on this side issue, diverting valuable effort away from combating this killer disease.

Generally speaking, people are doing the right thing. The implications by the media that the population are stupid is astounding.

If he'd said sorry I bet a good chunk of people would've settled it there.

But because he doubled down, he's just made those same people distrust him even more.

Think again. They are milking this side issue to the full, stoking up unneccesary time wasting debate between political parties.

It's almost as if some journalists are disappointed with this.

 

The media always treat the population as stupid and generally they are as they believe the utter ****e they sometimes come up with. The standard of journalism in this current period of time has been really poor and does emphasis the gap between what the public want and what the media think they want. I don’t think there has ever been such a big disconnect between the two. Shame as if used properly then it really could help in times like these. Yesterday’s press conference was the perfect example.

 

The same yesterday when they just ignored the perfect opportunity to talk to the PM about schools opening etc.

As someone who regularly drives the A roads of County Durham ( although not in the last 9 weeks obvs), I'm bloody glad I wasn't driving down there whilst Mr Magoo was testing his ****ing eyesight.

The most important thing here is how smart arse Dominic by reading the rules and guidelines in a different way to the rest of us has broken all the unity, stay home and stay safe that was by and large going on. Of course there were a few idiots who went out and they were shown up for being stupid. There seems to be a growing thought among many that if he can do so can I. It's going to be down to the media to show us that this guy was wrong and we need to stay alert to prevent a second bigger wave of the virus.

 

I've absolutely no idea if you are a parent or not, but if you are/where. Would you rather the press ask the same question over and over about DC or push for more information on schools and how your child/children will be effected over the coming weeks

 

I disagree
He’s responsible for Govt policy, Govt communications and sits on SAGE.
If he’s an untrustworthy, lying, selfish, entitled, eugenicist loving, rule breaking, public health policy ignoring, ****...then it’s safer for the population if he was away from making decisions that affect the health of the population.
