That was one of my options Guy but to ease fixture congestion next season, play half as many games by splitting the league into 2 having the top teams in each play off for promotion

If finishing the season with fans can't be guaranteed and becomes a non starter, one way of finishing the season whilst sticking to the current rules (although bending them as far as possible) would be to re-schedule all remaining league games. Those teams who have nothing to gain/lose and/or do not wish to play could forfeit their games up front and re-schedule the games that remain on. Any fines for forfeiting to be waived and all forfeited matches to be awarded a 1-0 victory against the team forfeiting

This could mean Wycombe gaining 15 points for forfeited matche and 5 games to play as Oxford, Coventry and Rotherham would not forfeit and probably Wimbledon and Southend wouldn't either = 74 points plus any points won from the 5 games

This way the season could be finished earlier than if all games were played and would also allow games to be scheduled as late as possible to allow fans to watch

Just the contracts to be sorted. Those that would be extended anyway would be no problem but for others I suspect that some may may decide to exercice their right to end the contract rather than be offered a (say) 5 match extension. If transfers were banned that could help them to decide

Peterborough would probably gain 18 points from forfeited games and would have to play Tranmere, Sunderland and Coventry

Sunderland would probably get 12 points from forfeited games, having to play Rotherham, Peterborough, Wimbledon and Southend

Can't be bothered to look at the rest unless it happens <laugh>

Went shopping again today. I never knew we ate so much. There was a bloke in the Supermarket who was ranting at another shopper about wearing masks and how we were all being led up the garden path by the Leadership over this Virus stuff. He was telling this bloke whose space I think he had invaded that it was all bullshit and that he had been a Mensa entrant at the age of 9 so he knew a thing or two and couldn't be hoodwinked. Problem was he was telling him at the top of his voice and the bloke looked a bit nervous being shouted at. I couldn't resist it and asked him how much the baked beans were. He gave me a right funny look as I added that he couldn't be that smart if he didn't even know that and did he want to buy a tin for £2. He eventually got removed by the Security Guard as he found somebody else to shout at after that. Gave me something to smile about and broke up the boredom of the shopping list anyway.

Looks like the vote to play on/close the season is going to be close
Indications though are that 12 will vote to end season, which would be enough
8 will vote to play on and
2 will go with the flow
    then there is Gillingham

If the 12 keep to their view and the 2 going with the flow do go with the flow then that will make 14 voting to end the season. It will take 12 voting votes to decide

Gareth would prefer to end the season on the pitch as he believes Wycombe would reach an auto promotion place, but RC wants to finish the season for financial and health reasons

Publicly Gareth is bigging up his squad and their ability to turn it around and get back to the promotion spot. In that he is bigging himself up as having the ability. Privately he knows full well that the club can't afford it and it really has to end and that's the way Wycombe will vote. Lets face it Ron we would all like to see a completed season but we all know it isn't going to happen and can't. The amount of clubs that would hit the rocks is unthinkable.

I can understand Gareth wanting to add promotion to his C.V. & even some of the players as I have said before who are coming to the end of careers. Any Wycombe supporter with any sense knows we are not ready for Championship, you only have to look at the Championship table to see who are the three of the four bottom clubs. On another note I see Tranmere are kicking up a stink, they have won their last three away games the only team to win at Coventry, 3pts & a game in hand on Wimbledon who they still have to play plus another couple of games against teams just above them. But what they have forgotten to mention is their next 8 games after that against teams in the top half, & there is also the slight problem that after nearly 10 weeks off which is longer than the normal close season, because teams are usually back after 8 weeks for pre sesason, nobody has any idea how there team is going to react, it's like starting the season all over again. No supporter has any idea what their team is going to do.
