Just watched that on Twatter, I remember the match report back then saying the pitch was 'unplayable', they weren't joking but as you can see from some of the tackles anything went in those days. Anyone remember the 4-6 loss at Bolton in the snow? Very unusual for a game to be abandoned whereas nowadays they can't wait.

Having said that my brother-in-law played for Crawley Town in the Southern League back in the late 60s and was in a match against Trowbridge that was abandoned because of fog with 4 minutes left when they were 3-2 ahead. The game was replayed and they lost 1-2...<laugh>

Saw that and the hull fan even put manning in his best 11.....

Can't believe the number that thought Phillips from massive was the best player in the division......

Unsurprisingly the Brentford fan had 5 players from his club in best side....no wonder they're 10 points clear at the top.....oh wait.....

Listened to two podcasts featuring Eze yesterday. One was with the Chief himself, Nedum, which was a really good listen. The other was The Beautiful Game podcast. Links to both below.

Eze comes across as a really nice, and very humble guy. Clearly has a level head, and rooted in his family who keep him level headed. A few interesting bits that jumped out to me across both pods:

    • When asked how he describes himself as a player, he said "I just see myself as an entertainer" which I loved
    • Spoke extremely highly of Paul Hall and Chris Ramsey. Didn't have such kind words for Holloway, but clearly enjoyed playing with McClaren and Warburton
    • He thinks the club have a number of really good youth prospects who will come through in the next few years
    • Wasn't drawn on his future, but pretty clear that he is ambitious and he did talk about wanting to play champions league football (fair enough)
    • He was asked to put together his best five aside team from players he has played with, excluding himself, and he put Dieng in goal, which I thought was interesting. [In case you're wondering, he put Nedum at the back, with Cherry, JET and Chair up front]
    • He obviously has a really close personal connection with Bright Osayi-Samuel, and enjoys the current blend of youth and experience in the squad
The chat with Nedum, in particular, was great. A bit like listening in to a captain coaching a younger player - even cautioning him to be careful with his language when chatting about if he wanted to play for Nigeria or England. If you've only got time for one, listen to that.

He's a special talent, and his work ethic / maturity shines through. He'll go far and we should enjoy him while we have him.

I like the comment he sees himself as an 'Entertainer', back in the 70s I had a car sticker 'QPR - The Entertainers', here's a cartoon from that time which sums up our philosophy...

Bircham played for Millwall, QPR and Yeovil Town before heading into coaching football

Bircham is in charge of the men's, women's and youth teams, as well as a centre of excellence.

The Canadian international began his career at Millwall in 1996 before moving to QPR for in 2002 where he made over 150 appearances for the club.

He finished his career at Yeovil Town before re-joining QPR in the dug-out as a coach in 2009. He earned 17 caps for Canada.

He’s denied it (suppose he would anyway) but sounds like a bit of a stitch-up potentially. Slightly dramatic article.
