Hey, it's live entertainment and that's about as close as any of us are going to come to any for a while.
My nightmare neighbour who over the last 10 weeks has had the fire services call to put out an out of control fire in the garden out, 3 incidents of domestic violence, paramedics to revive the wife from a drug and drink overdose and a visit from a team of bailiffs for non payment of vat to name just a few of their mis demeanors has had an overflowing skip in the garden , this is attracting vermin ( animal and human) and I had enough of it so I phoned the skip company to collect, two days later the skip driver was seen Fending off the irate wife of the house with a Jack handle as he drove off with the offending load. Other than this nightmare neighbour the road is very nice, now better less the offending skip, oh well back to my beer and book P.S he is a gooner COYS
I love gigs and football but wouldn't choose to live in the 100 Club or Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. One of the great things about going out out, is going back in again.
The law is an arse in this area. We had a couple of young lads move in next door to us and almost immediately the all night parties started with dance music played at full volume until 3/4 am and no consideration at all for neighbours. After enduring weeks of this I phoned the police and they were not in the slightest bit interested (even though it is breach of the peace). If I go round and lamp them, I am guilty of assault. The only recourse is the council noise abatement and they need weeks of diaries and then they'll send someone round if you can catch it going on. Even then it is warnings for a while and only gets escalated if it still goes on. Luckily mine went away before this full process could be played out, but it is really inadequate for people who get unlucky with their neighbours, and the Police dealing with it at the beginning would help everyone's mental health.
Makes you wish for a return to the coppers on the beat. Seems today PC 49 only wants to drive around in his car,not being disturbed while he inhales his doughnuts and listens to Radio........!
Mate, this is just scratching the the surface of what this lot have done to out street , daily drug deals in the street between the wife and her dealer , upto 9 vehicles parked In the street , only 2 drive, overflowing bins , dogs barking day and night and to top it all a macaw that swears like a trooper They once moved out to run the roughest pub in our town and managed to do what the police couldn't they got it shut down for firearms offences but the mob they let their house to were worse but on the plus side the trashed and stripped the gaff and did a runner
My daughter and son in law had a similar problem when they lived in a flat in wycombe everything was fine until 2 blokes moved in the flat beneath them and 2 weekends running they had parties on Saturday nights ,the second one somebody thought it was funny at 2 oclock in the morning to run upstairs and knock loudly on my daughters door ,the grandaughter was only 18 months old at the time so I didn't take too kindly to that, one day after work I went round to see my daughter and told her to go downstairs and knock on his door which she did as soon as they opened the door I had one by the throat and warned them that there would be a major problem if this happened again, 2 weeks later they both moved out . My daughter has since moved into a nice house round the corner from me and luckily has really nice neighbour's.
When I was a teenager living in a 3 storey flat in Scales Road,Tottenham,it was pretty quiet......apart from a postman and his wife on the top floor, other side. He was always beating her up. Unfortunately, nothing was done by their neighbours. It was still going on when we moved to Cheshunt.
Wasn't that for the 75th celebration of VE Day...even though nobody bothered celebrating any of the 51st-74th anniversary? Otherwise known as "Two weeks before my neighbours started coughing a lot"
Dodged the thunderstorms this morning and worked hard in the garden - now enjoying a drink in front of the tele and with nothing better to do am giving the fan less Bundesliga another go. Watching the Gladbach V Leverkusen match - Kai Havertz looks a proper player, moves across the ground with so much pace and grace, looks a real thoroughbred to me, going to be one to watch and Bayern Munich player of the future for sure.
I guess basketball is not run by SKY and doesn't generate the money football does so................: EuroLeague basketball season canceled over coronavirus pandemic The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and EuroCup basketball tournaments Monday have become the latest major sports events canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. “Due to reasons beyond our control, we have been forced to cut short the most successful and exciting season in European basketball history,” EuroLeague said in a statement.
When I was in school, boys didn't play netball (basketball) or rounders (baseball). Wonder if the schoolboys play them today?
Same can be said of the leagues which scrubbed their seasons PDQ: none of Ligue 1, the Eredivisie or Jupiler League are influenced by the tentacles of the Murdoch Empire - but the Premier League, Bundesliga, and Serie A on the other hand...
