Here is a star line up of While my guitar gently weeps. Tom Petty Prince and if that is Billy Preston on keyboard are no longer with us. I have reposted it below but can't seem to get it to play. I hope you have more luck
It works fine! It has been posted on here a few times already, but worth a repeat for the insane bit of lead guitar Prince provides towards the end, which Dhani Harrison seems to be completely overwhelmed by.
Here's Tom Petty's, I won't back down with Jeff Lynne and half The Beatles although Ringo only played drums in the video but not on the actual recording of the song
Apparently, during rehearsal, Prince just played along and was relatively quiet. He let rip his lead solo on the live version and completely blew his fellow musicians (and the audience) away. Proves that he was actually a very talented guitarist!
I've got an as new VHS copy of the video that was released for the entire album, Infected. Fantastic album, great videos and really interesting interviews with Matt. I've just done one of those Facebook things where you post 10 albums over 10 days, and Infected was in the first 3 days. Andy Dog's artwork is brilliant stuff too, RIP Andy.
I've stated on here many times my love for melodic guitar driven Power Pop, here are two important bands that helped it develop..
Chilcs mentioning Shearwater Lake has reminded me of this Texan Indie Rock/Folk band from Austin. Frontman Jonathan Meiburg is a keen ornithologist hence the band name...
Apparently there are clues to 50 Beatles song titles in this pic. I have 45 or 46 (not convinced about the last one) so I wondered if anyone is as bored as me and willing to go for them!
I reckon i've got 47...can't work out the ducks in the pond, the switch on the roundabout and the box/lorry(?) behind the yellow car on the road.
Yes - Piggies. The lorry could also be (tenuous link) “I’ll follow the sun”. Can’t get the duck with the bag (You won’t see me?) or the switch - the roundabout is, of course, Revolution. Here’s my take on it - 1. Glass onion 2. She came in through the bathroom window 3. Blackbird 4. And your bird can sing 5. Here comes the sun 6. Piggies 7. Norwegian Wood 8.
