I'm massively wary of a quick vaccine. No good protection against Corona if you grow a ****ing tail in 6 months. It wouldn't be the first time a miracle drug has led to a massive **** up.
There are some notable ones, but this is a perfect storm of desperation and greed. Every one wants a magic pill that everyone can take and suddenly the world is back to normal. Who ever gets given the green light as discovering the magic pill will make a silly amount of money.
I don't know whether any of you have had a look at that UnHerd YouTube channel. I've found it quite informative and comforting, if that doesn't sound a bit weird. I have a low level negativity saturation point these days and I really need hopeful information not end of the world as we know it type stuff which is constantly being pushed. Today's expert Karol Sarola says that in his view the virus is running out of steam which historically is what viruses do. Austria, who eased lockdown several weeks ago, have had no second spike and in no country has the virus plateaued as you may expect instead it's risen quickly but come straight back down. I'm taking this as a sign of hope.
Just hope Starmer is totally magnanimous over the Boris U-turn, and does all the statesmanlike words about helping the government when they've got things wrong, isn't Boris a jolly good feller for seeing the light, all friends together.... as he twists the knife to the hilt. And this - I voted against Corbyn twice in leadership contests, then left the party. Look, he's a genuine guy, the type of which there's always been on the Labour back benches. But could he do what Starmer has done the last month? Could he ****. And he won't let go until the government admits it was wrong to send elderly patients back to care homes to die without testing them - God knows how many lives that has taken, and that's not hindsight.
Eton won't allow students until September, Cambridge won't have lectures until 2021, but it's safe for the pleb children to be in classrooms in 10 days #seemslegit
Mariappa's friends and family saved: "If it wasn't for the fact I had gone back to training and had this test, then I'd never have found out that I had the virus and I would just be getting on with things as normal. That's obviously quite a strange thought."
He picked it up from somewhere, just not from anyone at Watford football club.or from playing football. Had he not been tested, anyone at Watford fc could have got it from him. Deeney needs to find out where Mariappa shops, gets deliveries from and which places he goes out to to exercise in case they have some in common because while he's avoiding the one place he won't pick it up from, Watford fc training ground, he could be regularly visiting places or using services that he could pick it up from just like Mariappa and the two staff members have picked it up from somewhere else in Watford other than the training ground.
i always viewed Corbyn as someone handy to remind the party of it's Socialist roots almost it's conscience but ffs you don't put them in charge as that requires a level of pragmatism well beyond him.
In December I couldn't envisage Labour in power for 15 years, but Starmer… could be John Smith that could have been.
My mum took philidamide (sp) when she was carrying me. I was her sixth child, and she suffered dreadfully with morning sickness. Evidently she hated the taste of them - and stopped after just a few. Only seems to have effected one appendage... But seriously, I think the first vaccine should deffo go to care home and the over 60's - they're not going to pass it on anyway. The one for the NHS and care workers though - that'll have to wait until it's gone through all its trials, imo. I say that as my daughter is a nurse and 24 - don't want her taking something that could cause mutant offspring. Think in the long run it'll be compulsory if you want insurance, go to mass-gatherings likes concerts and games (even the pub?), though as with MMR, there'll be people who object on some sort of quasi libertarian hogwash, and you can't force them to, imo. But they should go to the back of the queue for treatment on the NHS, especially if they get the virus.
