Morning - just seen that of 4 positive tests at Burnley and Watford, only one is a player.

    Two other positive tests undisclosed.

Norwich did their tests yesterday, so expect 31 positive results tomorrow. <whistle>

It wouldn't be surprising to be fair, they are all related.

    If there's a finger-counting test, they're screwed.

And Norwich won't be able to isolate, being one big inbred family, and we will have the it's affecting 6 fingered people worse than 5 fingered people.

Personally, I believe the players who test positive should be fined 2 weeks wages by their club. At this stage, they can only have caught it by not self-isolating, so as the Army would class it, it's 'a self-inflicted injury', and requires no sympathy, just utter contempt for bringing this on themselves.

Even if these 'affected' teams can't find enough fit players, they should play their kids, or groundstaff, or tea ladies. Anything but voiding a game where the opposition has judiciously followed the rules & are fit to play. Covid should not be an excuse for games being postponed. That's what squads & kids are for!

Woman on the local news is suing a care home (Ashby House in Milton Keynes) where her husband died. When she visited she was alarmed that nobody was wearing PPE so she asked the duty manager why. He said they have no cases of it in there so they don’t see a need to wear it (they had supplies).

Her husband died, he caught it from one of the workers in there. I believe a lot of this has been going on and weeks ago I posted in here there needs to be a lot of questions asked in privately run care homes

So we're allowed to play sports together including football, as long as everyone is related.

Norwich v Ipswich kicks off 7.30 on Friday.

Lockdown and self isolation are two different things. Footballers as with the majority of the British public have never been in self isolation, they have only been in lockdown. Footballers havent been told to avoid contact with anyone who lives in their household, nor have they been told that neither themselves or members of their household arent allowed to go shopping for essential supplies or medication.

I will also pass on your "utter contempt" and total lack of sympathy to my mother who was diagnosed with Covid 6 days ago, despite not having left the house since a week before lockdown was initiated. Unfortunately my father has had to leave the house once a week to obtain food and medication ( as allowed under the government guidelines) and despite not having any of the symptoms, he has tested positive for the virus and thus has passed it onto my mother.

But no worries WJ I will tell them that its their own fault, its self inflicted , and that they have brought in on themselves

I understand your angst, Morbid, but I don't think WJ meant it quite that way. If, as you say, your father has the virus but no symptoms, how many others are doing the same? Anyone of us could be a carrier. Hope your mother gets well and that your father doesn't develop this vile disease.

I'm so sorry to hear that. My best wishes to your family & hope there's an upturn asap.

I think you've completely misunderstood me, though. I was talking only about players, who have been instructed in how to conduct themselves by their clubs, for their own health, and let's face it, being a viable asset for the club. The clubs have told them to aim for the highest standards. My understanding was that most club had insisted in self-isolation.

If you re-read the 'utter contempt' sentence again, you'll perhaps realise that that is the army attitude to self inflicted injuries (e.g. a cold), and meant in a light-hearted manner. I'm sure a few of the old squaddies on here would confirm this.

FYI, Mrs WJ is in self-isolation.

Like Brisbane, I don’t think WJ was thinking in terms of the wider public in terms of his comments, more individual responsibility within the narrow disciplines of armed services/football.

Anyway, he’s quite capable of speaking for himself - I hope both your parents sail through the infection with as little impact to their day to day lives as possible , it must be a worrying time for both them and you. <ok>

Edit: see he’s beaten me to it.
