The bit about positive people was in response to G's comment about Reus being a dickhead <ok> ... I know it was a joke.

I will take a positive dickhead over a negative dickhead any day of the week. atm you have to take anything you can get <laugh>

Leipzig v Freiburg hasn't been a bad watch. Players don't look too unfit either.

players/managers not facing relegation: "Football is only a game but it's a great game and let's do our best since we're all in this together"

players/managers facing relegation: "Football is pointless even a single illness for a footballer or staff is a massive tragedy but we're more important than the plebs having to go to work so let's cancel everything but don't relegate us and keep us on full salary thanks"

Only saw second half so based on about 30 minutes viewing, looked pretty good. You can guess after a couple of months nobody was outstanding, some were very off their game. I will report further after next week's game he's bound to be excellent by then <whistle>

You a part time journalist now :bandit:

I'm wondering how our media are going to spin what looks like a really good start back for the Bundesliga. You can rely on the Germans to just get on with it.

As a key worker who hasn't had a day off sick since this pandemic began, I can only admire their courage. I mean, we had no ppe or testing kits at the beginning, but even so, the life of a Tesco checkout lady or an Amazon delivery driver isn't as important as a professional footballer, is it?

I'm intrigued that the same papers that are castigating transport workers and their union in London (who have worked through the pandemic since day one with barely no ppe or distancing arrangements), for not springing back into a full service and risking their lives for the good of the country and their duty*; are the ones that seem to be saying that even if a footballer gets a cough it will all have been some sort of holocaust.

    * I ****ing kid you not: The Mail and The Express have recently used that line to both transport workers and school staff.

I think the two papers concerned have done more to pour petrol on the flames of panic, whether stockpiling food or predicting high death rates, than any other papers. They are more interested in clickbait than real news.

I understand that footballers will genuinely be a bit scared of returning to work, having loads of money doesn't shield you from harm but ask any worker about feeling safe on the job and how protected they feel and I bet every single one would swap with being a pro footballer with all the testing and molly coddling they will get.

Massive, massive kudos to you btw for putting yourself out there and just getting on with it <applause>

I had to attend a site meeting yesterday and due to my daughter's low immune system I had gloves and a mask on, in addition to the usual safety boots, hard hat, and fluorescent coat. The other 6 people at the meeting had no gloves or masks. Admittedly it was in a burnt out building, but at times people were not 2m away from each other. These people were not unintelligent, there were two structural engineers, a surveyor, a conservation architect, and directors of the contractors. The lads working on the site had masks and gloves on.

Some people think it will never happen to them, but that is like saying you will never win a bet on a horse at 100-1, it does happen.

Sometimes it's the intelligent ones who have no common sense. Too busy with what's going on in their own head to notice what's going on around them.
