Of course you’re not, and there’s the faux moral high ground lobbed in for good measure.

I'm a patient under the NHS, I had yet another letter, telling me to keep away from the hospital this week. The consultant actually took the trouble to ring me for a second time midweek, to see how I was, this is consultants here we are talking about. I need to go in for an assessment next week, despite the same day receiving the second letter telling me to stay away, for my own protection - 2 letters same day confused . com.

No one has once mentioned to me the name 'Nightingale.' When does this next phase actually start, and why has it not already started!?

You keep relying on that name 'Nightingale' like it's some unused miracle cure. Is the Excel mothballed at the moment or are they actually using it?....if they are not using it, re-read my first 13 words in this comment.

It has, there’s been **** loads of work going on between NHS England and the individual Trusts to work out the ways in which hospitals can be separated into different zones and how to make it as safe as possible. The work on how to include the Niggtingales is still ongoing.

Bare in mind when I told you a couple of weeks ago they had started to work on how services would resume you told me it wasn’t safe to do it and you disagreed. Now you’re asking why it hasn’t already happened!

We can build a hospital in a week...

But we will take 6 months to work out how to use it...

    The Great British logic! #China #Germany #SouthKorea

I'm defo going this time... <whistle>

Probably six years to get the staff levels required to run the thing fully.

It’s alright if you think the NHS are **** mate. I’m just pointing out what they’re thinking they could be used for. Funnily enough it’s quite complicated to put together a plan for resuming services during a pandemic due to the need to separate patients into different categories in different places. I’m sure you’d have solved it quick time though, obviously.

So last Sunday Boris told us that it was all about the R.

Yesterday, we’re told the R had gone up.

But it’s no longer all about the R, as the R stats have a 3 week lag.

So....let me get this right. A week ago it was all about the R, and he announced a relaxing of lockdown.

The R has a 3 week lag, so the R was actually going up whilst we were still on supposed lockdown. Yet they decided to ease lockdown.......what science lead this logic exactly? As it’s all about the science right?

Tbh I think it’s clear the slight easing of the lockdown was more about people losing patience with the lockdown and starting to flout the rules, so making it easier for people to follow and about easing the economic effect.

I don’t think it was about the direct effect of the virus.

The benefit to that decision is both economic and should lead to an improvement in people’s physical and mental health for those struggling. The downside is it potentially allows the virus to infect more people.

If this virus is here for a long time there needs to be a balance that is found. Not saying they’ve got that balance right, but I think everyone can see the decision wasn’t based purely on stopping the virus regardless of what crap may be spouted to justify it.

That’s the idea yeah....... She was one of a few in the team...... She had loads of evidence for convictions but never had the chance to take it further.

The police investigations into paedophilia always stop at certain levels and all..... But don't take my word for it you can make your own thing up

On a more positive note: I never thought much of Starmer before he was leader but since he’s got the job I actually think he’s coming across very well. We might actually end up with a viable and competent opposition for the first time in years.

I think people starting to flout lockdown rules was driven primarily by the fact that over a week before they were relaxed, it was made known they were going to be relaxed.....

In the week leading up to the announcement all the usual right wing mouthpieces, the Govt aligned press and the usual Tufton St lobby groups, were all singing from the same hymn sheet.

Pardon my scepticism, but the relaxing of lockdown was imo driven by pressure from the donors and tax dodgers who ultimately control the ****show. Billionaires and multi millionaires need the plebs with their noses back to the grindstone, as without the toil of the plebs their income is curtailed. Science was manipulated to try and justify it.

We’ll see in the coming weeks what the effect of it is. Personally I think we’ll see another large spike as the infection level is still high and we’ve not introduced any form of track and trace yet, in order to try and isolate infection hotspots. More social interaction will therefore lead to a higher infection rate. I’d love to be proven wrong like.

The R figure just seems like a guess to me even if it a (semi) educated guess as not enough testing in the general population to give enough widespread data . reminds me of that university team who ages ago claimed that they thought 65% of our population had probably already had Covid 19 and it may be as high as 80% which was clearly a guess and imo , correctly as it turned out , was fairly obviously total bollocks .
