We are just lurching about from week to week, scrapping around for positives to take into the next game. Bruce has issued his bog standard after match interview "wu have to pick waa sells up for next week".

'Picking waa sells up' is what we seem to be doing a bloody lot of recently.

If that performance is what Bruce fans call progress, then I'm afraid we are ****ed beyond all comprehension. We looked like a team of total strangers tonight and its obvious the Stoke game was a case of 'a good time' to play them imo.

Our passing was poor, our overall play was sloppy and our tempo disappeared after the first 5 mins and didn't come back until the last 5 mins. The only good thing tonight was a cracking goal from Richardson but did no-one else see that even that goal left the team looking flat celebrating it.

Our team spirit looked woeful out there and the players are not playing with enjoyment or smiles on their faces. Something is seriously wrong behind the scenes if you ask me. We are a dis-jointed and very poor team of players and once again, we move onto Saturdays game v WBA under immense pressure to get 3 points again. We are 1 point above relegation places and Saturday will be the 8th game of the campaign. We will very shortly be a quarter of the way through this season and far from a steady start, we are having a mare imo. I'd take a steady start now no problem over this.

    7 played; 1 win; 2 draws and 4 defeats. 5 points from a possible 18 on offer.

Still, I'm sure I'll be lambasted as usual for airing my genuine concerns that I think this will be another relegation scrap for us this campaign and not the improvement on the fluked top 10 place last season.

Progress? Not in a million years is this team what you'd call progress, no matter how you want to dress it up. If Bib's still want to call this too early to change the manager, can you please let me know at which point does no concern for you, become slightly concerned and then develop into full on panic stations.

I'm at full on panic now personally because ALL the signs are there that this team has relegation threat written all over it. We have all seen them before not to recognise them now.

I've been waiting for your post Cest, but there will be plenty of bitter mackems who look through red and white glasses and will blindly back Bruce no matter what. As a Geordie, I hope he's at Sunderland for the long term!

I gave Bruce 10 games when the season started....I think this has change to 1 game left. Lose on Saturday, low attendance...I think Short will sack him.

I don't understand Bruce, why not get a LM or RM...fast paced wingers. There are plenty in the Champ.. if you look at players like Pilkington etc. Did well against us..I am so p***ed off, and never wanted Bruce in the first place.

2 seasons gone...we have went backwards. We have sold good players, bought CRAP!

For all the players hes brought in, not one would get in our starting eleven on current form. Light years away from the pre season assumptions of course. Hes a muppet and seems to have completely lost the plot. Pardew has shown that you dont need to spend big to get the right players in.
Joking aside I hope things turnaround cos the prem would be a worse place without the derby.

Anyone think Short being at an away game may have been a pointer?

Rare that he's at an away, let alone an un-glamourous Monday nighter.

I honestly agree with you...I think your team is MUCH better than ours. You have pace in Obertan and Ben Arfa (who I rate highly)...you have decent midfield and a solid defence. The only issue is your strikers..but then again they are banging them in..our Strikers don't get a game :/

Ive read your posts a lot Cest and after tonights S***e, I agree I too have seen the signs before and I want him out.... now. He is full of nice words but empty of substance, he makes the wrong choice time and time again why wait until 65 mins to change it? it was clear at half time it wasn't working so when we went 2 down the changes should have come within minutes. He's lost his bottle and now my backing.

Aye, he seems to have lost it at the moment. A pretty dire effort -but wot does the chairman do ??? If he is sacked then what ? more turmoil n upheavel ? Maybe, but maybe it needs to be doen before he wastes another season with his pathetic excuses. I support the Toon but he is messing your club up at the minute

A better manager (O'Neil or Hughes) would get better out of the same players imo. The likes of Gardner and Larrson are cracking signings but Bruce doesn't get the best out of them or any one else for that matter...

You know what? That fluke win last week (three lucky goals) has kept him safe for a few weeks, sadly :( and then we might get a flukey 1-0 win and save his job for longer

He sticks with Sess as a striker, Sess still on 0 goals.

The midfield has no creativity as Sess is getting balls lobbed at him a foot too high.

Was ok at home on Sunday gone, when we have the ball in the final 3rd, as Sess got it to feet, but as soon as we play away, he reverts to schoolboy 'punt it' ****e.

His tactics are utter poop and I have finally come round to the BOB mentality. I don't see how players can function when they're told to sit back and let the oppo come at them. O'Shea was bad tonight and Brown made a few howlers. Titus alone looked really composed, which is saying something.

Had enough with Bruce now. Sorry and all, but there comes a point...

Never read the thread, didn't have to, it was always on the cards. We get beat and heads must roll.

We were ****e tonight, but why not discuss why we were ****e rather than go on another BOB crusade?

FFS Cest give it a rest with the persecution complex, from what I have seen the vast majority who don't agree with you just give their reasons why and say nothing against you personally at all, that crack is getting a little tiresome.

On the subject of Bruce I am coming round to your view point, he isn't very good is he. More nuts substitutions and just no fire in his or the teams belly. Was so dissapointed with that shower of ****e tonight. I think your right with the timing of the Stoke game, they must have been knackered. Need one of Connor up front with Bender, Richardson out of defense and Sess in midfield. They need to do something very, very special in the next two games for me or I am off the fence and BOB for sure.
