Do suicide Bombers stay 2 M apart ?

 

My wife’s scan, booked for 27th May, has been brought forward to this coming Friday.
This will be a massive thing for Mrs Badger, as she hasn’t been outside the front door since early March.
We were given the pick of the appointments available, so have taken the 08.45, in the hope that it will mean fewer people being around, at that time of day.
The procedure has been changed. Instead of drinking a litre of fluid, on arrival, which means sitting in the waiting room, she now has to drink a pint of water, before leaving home and go straight to the scanner, so hopefully easier to maintain distancing. Luckily the masks I ordered, that I was expecting next week, turned up Monday, so we have some protection.

 

This is worth a share.

On Tuesday, I completed binge watching Game of Thrones.
When I first started I wasn’t sure what I would make of it.
Would it live up to the hype etc.
Bloody loved it! I haven’t engaged so fully with any programme in a long, long time, as I did with this one.
I won’t pretend that I wasn’t confused, during the earlier seasons, as to who was on whose side, as a result of the frequent introduction of new characters, but as the series wore on I found it easier to follow, often as a result of the ever increasing body count reducing the number of main characters. I probably would have found it more confusing if I had watched it weekly, instead of watching 5 episodes a day.
Some really good dry humour, throughout, which could have easily been missed.

Characters I wanted bumped off, from an early point were.
Cersei - bitch
Joffrey - spoilt brat and an absolute nut job.
Sansa - snob. Did my head in with her social climbing attitude

Characters I looked forward to seeing
Tyrion - star of the series for me and deserves a follow up show (preferably with Bronn)
Arya - little and feisty, a dark haired version of Mrs B, although I don’t think the missus has topped anyone - yet. Also good potential for a follow up show
Daenerys - obvious reasons

And an honourable mention for Tormund and his unrequited love (lust?) for Brienne. I also had a soft spot for Samwell.

Favourite episode was in Series 8, The Long Night, fighting off the army of the dead. I haven’t twitched so much, in my seat, since the time we won 0-1 at Leeds, when we too were being continually overrun, but defending stoically.

Might watch it again if the threat of coronavirus doesn’t drop quickly enough for my liking.

 

Is something I've been meaning to give another go. Really isn't my thing at all but basically everyone loves it so must be something to it. I got to the bit where Sean Bean kills a dog in my first watch before being bored, may have been half way through the first episode.

Also finally got round to finishing Dexter, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a series. Don't bother with the final series though

 

I’d be interested to know how you found the last series (season). I loved the show but thought they hurried their way through the end, which, of course, George RR Martin hadn’t written and I think it showed. Shame really as it spoilt it for me .....

 

This Image sums it up for me. Although I think this is a little harsh on season 6, and there were parts of 7 that were still really excellent. Showed to me that the directors are excellent at transfering an excellent story from page to screen, but as soon as they had to develop the story themselves it took a sizeable nose dive which ultimately ruined it for most people.

 

In my defence I don’t know how much of the series runs true to what George RR Martin wrote, so I don’t know how far the final season veered away from his writing.

The last season was fewer episodes but they were longer, which I thought allowed them to stretch scenes to the limit and show more action, which was good, IMO. In the earlier seasons there were some battle scenes that weren’t even shown, maybe because of the shorter episodes, which was a little disappointing for me.


I definitely thought the last episode was weak. I expected there to be a battle between Daenerys and Jon Snow, after her “blip”, rather than the “quiet way” they parted and the aftermath.
By the final season, I had totally bought into the characters, so I even enjoyed the little side stories, such as the relationship between Arya and The Hound, Brienne and Jaime, Samwell and Gilly and especially The Imp and Bronn.
