Don't get me wrong. I know Marvin is a talent. I understand that. I also know that on his day, he can bang them in and leave the defence standing. However, no professional footballer should be caught offside as many times as Marvin was today. And today wasn't the first time. He spends most games getting caught offside a lot, and the difference between him and Priskin was that Priskin seemed to score more! I get very frustrated with Marvin when i see a ball that he doesn't chase, or watch him stand back and watch instead of trying to challenge. But the offside thing? It's crazy that he's beaten so often by the trap.

He could be great, it's frustrating to watch him not be!

    No

    Sorry resisting somewthing

The forsythe post was hammered in
Offside. Sordel was playing on the shoulder so he made runs as most of our players are poor these runs werent regonised

I didn't think he was offside too.

Marvin will never be like a Graham who runs all day but he likes to play with quality and have good ball to feet.

For the first time, I've noticed that Marvin fouled a lot in yesterdays game. It doesn't suit his game trying to be a pusher and shover and its probably an indication at how bad things are getting in the team

Totally disagree with the comparison and with a few more team displays like that the lad will be off In January

He's much better faced with a defender to beat, is quicker and is as good if not better finisher. He's not a mature player and his head does drop sometimes but at the moment he's playing at the head of a side which has no incisive passer of the ball anywhere. He's often faced with chasing hopeful or inaccurate balls or passes where the defender is always favourite. I think that in a better side he'd score a hatful.

I think he grew frustrated at the lack of help ! He put in some wicked crosses into the box that no one else read! I thought he worked tirelessly with precious little back up! I too think he will be off in January the midfield needs a shake up as an aside is bauben the new travner ?

What Norway said, except that I don't think he'll be sold as early as January.

Sordell was offside yesterday because he was trying to make things happen: he expected balls to be played through a second earlier than they were more often than not.

Priskin thinks it's the opposition's full back's job to ensure that he is onside when he is goalhanging three yards ahead of the centre back.

I watched the game back in full (we recorded it for this exact reason) and only 40% of the decisions against him were clearly offside. There were several when maybe a finger was off but no more. He is doing the job he is meant to but with little help. I think we are struggling because we are not getting bodies in the box. What i want to see is the opposite winger in the box at the back post. If Yeates is crossing the ball the Forsythe needs to be cutting inside to the back post and vice-versa.

Poor as he was, that was the one thing Forsyth did do yesterday.

I'd like to congratulate you on being able to watch that twice!
As Brolly man said - it wasn't going to be early in the running order for the Championship show.

Its wasn't easy, but we wanted to make sure we were right before we criticised the ref.

I still think, despite what he was trying to do, if he was not getting the ball to him the first few times, you'd think he'd realise nobody was reading the game the same way that he was and would stop trying to run forward, thinking he might get caught offside! It's just not very bright imho to make the same mistake time and time again.

In answer to the question, Sordell is a bit like Priskin except Priskin was far better, Sordell will get to his standard eventually hopefully.

Offsythe was far worse with the flag than Marv who i thought got a really unesseccary rollocking after Sat, i thought he played quite well, he misses Weimann cos he could do with a strike partner willing to do all the running for him while he waits to stick em in.

offsythe <laugh> like it! good point about Weiiman! Think Tamas had a little bit more technical skill , but marvs got him on pace ! On saturday in the first half Marv put a couple of good hard low crosses that flashed across the box shame no one else was on his wavelength!

Funny - when Forsyth does the same, he's branded as useless! :(

It's strange isn't it. I don't see Forsyth as useless at all...and he works hard. He'll come good i'm sure.
