My last bike was an Aprillia RSV-R. Loved it.

Unfortunately with work and kids I rarely got the time to use it so I sold it about 3 years ago. When the kids are older I will probably get bikes again but will probably go for a 600cc rather than 1000cc.

Used to have one of these when I was a kid:

It exploded when I took a corner in a disused chalk pit a bit to fast, front wheel hit a clod of chalk on the surface and spun the wheel about and left me hanging on as it raced vertically up a cliff face. I threw myself off to the side and it landed down a 10 foot deep gully and went BOOM.

Parents opted never to allow me to have a replacement even though I'd been riding the thing for 4 years.

had a scoot for a while, was fantastic fun. in the days when road laws werent reeeeallly laws in your own head. in other words, just didnt give a ****, but the xlr is amazing. So many forests around here you can just go for a rake around them or into a dirty wet field is always good fun. a mate of mine has a motox track near my house too its fantastic fun.

Love bikes. I'm lucky enough to have 3.

A BMW R1200RT, mainly for long trips with the missus - Germany, Belgium, France Luxembourg and Ireland in the last couple of years.

A Yamaha TDM 900, mainly for having fun on. Long journeys on this tend to give me numb nut syndrome.

A 30 year old BMW R60/7, mainly for tinkering with. One day I'll get it properly fettled for riding again.

Although most of my every day travelling is by car these days, I've been riding bikes since 1978 and couldn't bear to give it up.
