In a hospital environment and in London I would take that 0.1% infected rate as excellent and VERY surprising, especially as they were assymptomatic and so not isolating.

My worry is about the assymptomatic patients, as they are not isolating, and if not care workers, probably not taking a lot of care with touching things and cleaning and even washing hands. Things are still really not acting entirely logically and basic particles such as virus' really ouught to be nothing more than just pure logic

1000 people were tested at two or three supermarkets over two days to check on community transmissions
    Zero positive tests returned

Shocked, clear message I was told. The government knew what they were doing, and doing the right thing. Who could have predicted this would happen :bandit:

627 deaths yesterday feels like the ideal time to turn the tap back on.

Apparently in Addenbrokes 3% of 1200 staff tested positive with no symptoms throughout April.

    Just a quick question....

Have we done 100,000 daily tests yet?

Three times 30th April, 1st May and Sunday 10th May.

On none of these did we test 100,000 people...only about 2/3 of that number

Ok here's a quick question...….Transport Companies, City Mayors, Unions, Employers all knew that eventually some form of lifting would take place and people would start to use public transport again, they've had 2 months to put things in place to make transport compliant with social distancing measures......why didn't they do something instead of waiting for the Government to say go back to work...….I can't see that the Government is responsible for the Micro Management of every facet of life, surely others have responsibility to ensure smooth and safe travel...….

    Tin hat time?

not sure what travel companies could do really, I’d question the clarity and timings of government messages. My office is making prep, under current guidelines they can only accommodate a tenth of the previous population.

remember 88% of the conservatives Facebook election posts were found to be either misleading or lies. Nobody cared then, why would they change if they can get away with it. Labours results in the same report 0% were found to be misleading or lies.

How about blocking off seats to allow for the 2 metres, mark out on the floor where people can stand...…….Not saying it would be easy but they could have done something rather than the apparent nothing...….I accept that if Social Distancing is applied then only 10% of normal passenger numbers can be carried but that's the new normal.....

So just to clarify, we have never tested 100,000 people a day.

I actually agree with you there although, if I were in charge of 'x' amount of people and their health & safety, especially concerning an invisible virus, I would want to see the scientific based evidence that the guidelines were correct and that I wouldnt be open to any libel action if they didnt work.

Are they seriously expected to follow every member of the public around to make sure they comply.
People do have to take a bit of responsibility for themselves surely.

I think the target was 100k tests not people tested Bob. I don't get the great disparity between those numbers though, it does seem odd.

I think they moved the goalposts to test capacity from tests to people regarding 100,000. I may be mistaken

Obviously they ARE people Bob, I would never suggest that half those tests are carried out on Boris' dog.

But yesterdays results of 87 K represented 67K people...So 20K are probably repeats or controls within the tests but why so many.

I do hope they are now community testing everyone on the Isle of Wight whilst they are also testing the app, because that would be a really sensible and scientific thing to do!
