Well that's two reports now that I've read that say the FA, who do have the final say in this even if the Prem does vote 14-6 to stop relegation (think I may have to run that past Rumpole of the St End though) are just not allowing it. Whether that includes a 22 league team next season, I dunno.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ague-clubs-season-decided-sporting-merit.html

    #calledit.

Now, the FA will still have to run that past some of the most learned, legal opinions on 606 (no names mentioned <whistle>), but there it is - play it out, or call it off and the positions will be decided on merit. This season's merit. ****ing 'ave it - null and void is now officially null and void. :emoticon-0169-dance

If I was being silly I'd tell you that Greece win in 2004

And Germany, Spain and Italy failed to get out of the group stage

Saw this trending on Twitter today <doh>

    https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/fo...restart-nations-morale-football-a4437646.html

Look, if the boot was on the other foot he'd give a **** all right and so would his fans; and as soon as the season restarts all fans calling for null and void will be packing into the pubs when they reopen to watch the matches. They're lying if they say different.

That's not to say that if players don't feel safe to play, they have the right to refuse to go on the pitch. All players have that right. Fans don't have to go to the ground if they don't feel safe. The majority of them won't go if they're worried about sending the kids back to school.

It was pointed out to me on Twitter that players are more protected than children. At least players are tested!

Earlier this year, Liverpool were linked with a move for RB Salzburg star Dominik Szoboszlai and according to reports from Italy, The Reds are still interested in signing the teenager, but they will now face competition from both AC Milan and Lazio.

Plenty of Liverpool fans will have already seen the 19-year-old live in person as he played 71 minutes at Anfield earlier this season as his Salzburg side were beaten 4-3 by the Reds in a memorable Champions League clash.

I think their point is that if the conditions are the same from the start its fair, but some teams have already had home advantage in fixtures, if you aren't given the same then it skews the results.

It would be like if this were last season when we were close to City and they'd already played a home game at the Etihad against us but we had to play our "home" game at the Emirates with no crowd. That's a massive disadvantage and would tip the balance in City's favour massively. When we are talking about the amount of money involved in the relegation fight then I can kind of understand it tbh.

You can say the same for any season when considering injuries, suspensions, change of manager and the January transfer window etc.
